Leading job creation in the North region in February, with the creation of nearly 9,000 new jobs, Pará ranked among the 10 states with the best performance in the country, with 46,705 admissions against 37,715 dismissals. The data comes from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), from the Ministry of Labor.

The holding of COP 30 in the State is one of the drivers for new opportunities in the job market, as well as the qualifications offered by the State Government, such as the "Capacita COP 30" program, which offers 105 courses in areas related to tourism, gastronomy, security, transportation, and infrastructure in in-person and distance learning classes. Throughout Pará, 16,000 certifications have been delivered through the initiative.

"The greatest legacy of COP is human; it is the change in the lives of the people of Pará. And nothing in the world is more transformative than knowledge. I am sure that what the students of 'Capacita' learned in the courses offered by the State and its partner entities can change the lives of Pará families," emphasizes Hana Ghassan, the Vice Governor of Pará and President of the State Committee for the holding of COP 30.

According to the State Department of Culture (Secult), the Porto Futuro II project has 449 workers active, and the Parque da Cidade has 1,109 workers active, numbers that can reach 600 (Porto Futuro) and 1,300 (Parque da Cidade) at the peak of the work. The State Department of Public Works (Seop) records more than 2,500 jobs generated directly by the works for COP 30.

"The Government of Pará stands out for delivering projects that directly change the quality of life of the population and that have also generated, since 2019, significant numbers of new job openings. In Belém, it has been this way as well, with investments for the holding of COP 30. And we will still generate more vacancies until the international conference on climate change, representing another important legacy for the residents of our state and our capital," points out Ruy Cabral, head of Seop.

Agronomist Maynara Gomes, Environmental Analyst at Parque da Cidade, highlights the importance of experience and job opportunity. "I started working on the projects recently. As soon as I learned about the vacancy, I applied to contribute to this space, which will promote a great boost for the State, highlighting our work in the environmental, socioeconomic, and job generation areas. I believe this will have a significant impact on my professional journey as well," she states.

RESULTS - In February, Pará showed positive performance in all five major groupings of economic activities evaluated. The highlight was the services sector, which ended the month with a balance of over 4,000 vacancies. Next came commerce, industry, construction, and agriculture. In February, Pará was responsible for more than 40% of the total balance of formal jobs generated in the North.

OPPORTUNITIES - The National Employment System (Sine), coordinated by the Secretary of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income (Seaster), has been recruiting, pre-selecting, and mediating professionals for the job market. In addition to mediating labor, Sine, as a public and free service, ensures the registration of job vacancies, interviews, updating of resumes, and issuance of unemployment insurance.

In Belém, services are offered in person at the Cidadania Stations in the Guamá neighborhood, São Brás, and the Pátio Belém Shopping, in addition to the Usinas da Paz in Icuí, Cabanagem, Marituba, Bengui, Terra Firme, Jurunas, and Guamá. Seaster also daily publishes job vacancies at Sine.
