State Department of Finance (Sefa) seizes 50 tons of soybeans in Marabá

During an inspection carried out by state revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of Carajás, in the southeast of the state, 50 tons of bulk soybeans were seized on Tuesday (29). The cargo left Pará destined for the state of Maranhão. The merchandise was valued at R$ 106,746.00.
The seizure occurred at the fiscal post of the Carajás Railway, on the Pa-150 Highway, in Marabá. “Although the invoice presented indicated that it was an internal operation within Pará, it was found, even in the field of complementary information, that the delivery of the soybeans would occur outside the state, characterizing an interstate operation without the proper advance ICMS collection,” clarified the coordinator of the tax unit, Cicinato Oliveira.
The fiscal document was disregarded, and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 17,933.38, referring to the tax and fine.
