State certifies 21 thousand Pará residents for the job market with qualifications from Sectet in the 1st quarter
Only in Capacita COP30, there were 4 thousand this year, totaling more than 16 thousand certificates since the launch of the program with 105 free courses

The Government of Pará has qualified more than 21 thousand women and men for the job market in the first three months of this year, through programs managed by the State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet). Of this total, 4 thousand certifications were through Capacita COP30. Launched in May 2024, Capacita COP30 has already qualified more than 16 thousand workers. The program currently offers 105 free courses related to tourism, infrastructure, and services. The state initiative aims to prepare professionals for the job market, especially during the Climate Conference, which will be held in November in Belém.

In addition to Capacita COP30, Sectet also manages the programs 'Forma Pará' and 'Saberes e Competências'. Only in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, there were approximately 11 thousand certifications. Meanwhile, 10 thousand people were qualified in the integration regions of Pará, such as Lago de Tucuruí, Tocantins, Rio Capim, Guamá, Rio Caeté, Guajará, Marajó, Araguaia, Baixo Amazonas, and Carajás.

“These numbers show the excellent work we are doing for the professionalization of our people. The more Pará residents are trained or even graduated, the more job and income opportunities will be expanded, both inside and outside our state, because that is what we want, for Pará residents to gain space wherever they go with the proper qualification,” emphasizes Victor Dias, head of Sectet.

Graduated in the technical course of Tour Guide, student William Santos celebrates the completion of the qualification in an important year for the State. “This year, with the arrival of COP 30, is decisive, because it is a year in which our state needs many professionals in the tourism sector, this also contributed to me entering this world. This training is just the beginning, I also intend to take other courses related to the state government that are available for tourism, aiming for the opportunities that will open up during the year,” he highlights.

OPPORTUNITIES - Among the other professionalizations offered through programs and projects managed by Sectet are: 'Forma Pará', which seeks to expand, interiorize, and democratize the offer of higher education courses in different regions of Pará; 'Saberes e Competências', which is a system for recognizing the skills and knowledge of workers, in which professionals validate and officialize their competencies. More than 1.5 thousand people have been certified.
The certification through the Technical Education Schools of Pará (EETEPAs) is one of Sectet's initiatives in the area. More than 2.2 thousand people have been qualified in the municipalities of Santa Isabel, Marituba, Belém, Castanhal, Vigia, Xinguara, Curuçá, Salvaterra, Tailândia, and Oriximiná. Student Giovana Dias, 18 years old, is one of the students certified by EETEPA Vilhena Alves, in February of this year, in the technical course of Administration.

“By studying the market, I noticed a demand in the Human Resources sector and became interested in learning more, that’s when I found this technical course and took it over three years, along with High School. The course prepared me well, we had several lectures, teaching materials, and the teachers were very good too. I intend to continue with a degree in Administration, to further professionalize myself and enter the job market as a great labor option,” says the student.
The 'Caravana de Ciência e Tecnologia', a project aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge; the 'Certification by the Professional Training Pathway', one of the curricular options of the New High School, which allows students to delve into areas of professional interest are other state investments in the professionalization of youth.

USINAS DA PAZ – The Amazon Maker project operates in itinerant laboratories and within UsiPaz. The initiative seeks to enhance the teaching and learning process, through experiments and scientific-technological processes. In the complexes, Sectet also offers courses in Gastronomy and Sewing and Fashion. In the first three months of 2025, more than 5.7 thousand people were qualified in this initiative.
Housewife Cláudia dos Santos, a resident of the Terra Firme neighborhood, is one of the certified in the area of Sewing and Fashion. “The course helped me to have an understanding of the craft, with a lot of technique, and this opened my mind to the opportunities generated by entrepreneurship. In two weeks, I was already able to make, with the guidance of the teachers, bags, blouses, and crochet. They encouraged me to go further. Who knows, I might be able to open my own business in the future?” she comments.
