The "Mother's Fair of Usina da Paz", an initiative that brings together 18 women entrepreneurs who participated in training at Usina da Paz Bengui in Belém, was opened this Tuesday (6) at Parque Shopping and will continue until the end of May, as part of the celebrations for Mother's Day, and also to strengthen the economy promoted by women.

The initiative is the result of the work developed by UsiPaz Bengui, a public facility that is part of the Territories for Peace Program (TerPaz). The exhibitors are residents of the surrounding area of the Usina, who over the past few months have participated in courses, workshops, and entrepreneurship promotion activities organized by UsiPaz.

Craftswoman Samanta Ramos: "prepared and valued"

“Participating in this Fair is a dream come true. Before UsiPaz, I had sewing as a hobby. After taking the cutting and sewing courses, I learned many techniques and became qualified. Today, I feel prepared and valued as an entrepreneur, especially having an incredible opportunity like this,” said Samanta Ramos, 32, a craftswoman who works with accessories and sewing.

For Claudineia Veloso, 56, who produces knitted pieces, the experience is also a way to inspire other women in the community. “It is very gratifying to see customers praising our work. This motivates us to grow and believe in our potential. This opportunity is wonderful. I can only thank Usina for everything it has done for the women of Bengui,” she stated.

Creativity - The Fair showcases a variety of handmade products, such as decorative items, clothing, cosmetics, earrings, and accessories, produced by women from the community, who have found in entrepreneurship a new way to generate income.

Juliana Chaves: Fair provides visibility

Juliana Chaves, coordinator of Usina da Paz Bengui, emphasized that the Fair represents a space for visibility, appreciation of women's work, and encouragement of financial autonomy. “Spaces like this guarantee neighborhood entrepreneurs a sales location with a large flow of people, an opportunity for them to build a clientele and consolidate this change in their lives,” she reinforced.

Service: The Mother's Fair is open until the end of May, from 10 AM to 10 PM, on the first floor of Parque Shopping, at Rodovia Augusto Montenegro, 4300, Parque Verde neighborhood, in Belém.
