The Olympic Stadium of Pará - Journalist Edgar Proença - Mangueirão, was the stage for the most played classic in the world: the famous RE-PA, between Clube do Remo and Paysandu. The match marked the first game of the Parazão Banpará final.

More than 38 thousand fans from both sides cheered and sang, creating a beautiful party in the stands of the Colosso do Benguí, but the blue fans left happy with the 3-2 victory. The goals for Leão were scored by Janderson and Klaus in the first half, and Sávio in the second half. For Paysandu, Rossi scored from a penalty and Joege Benítez left his mark.

The secretary of Seel, Cássio Andrade, was present and highlighted the great match and the beautiful celebration of the fans at Mangueirão. “A beautiful party from our fans at the New Mangueirão, we are seeing many families having fun and cheering in a healthy way. Our fans are worthy of a classic like we are witnessing between Remo and Paysandu, two teams showing good football on the field. I want to congratulate Clube do Remo and Paysandu for the great match, a spectacle of five goals for us fans to cheer until the last minute. And Mangueirão once again being the stage for great games,” said the secretary of Seel.

FIVE-GOAL MATCH

Remo, buoyed by a streak of eight games without defeat, opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the game with a goal from Janderson and, at 22, extended the lead to 2-0 with Klaus, who scored with a header. The team exploited plays down the flanks, with Sávio and Pedro Rocha creating difficulties for Paysandu's defense.

The blue defense led by Reynaldo held well against Paysandu's initial advances. However, rough plays resulted in yellow cards for Reynaldo and Giovanni Pavani, both cautioned for hard fouls. The referee had to intervene to calm tensions, especially after a misunderstanding before a corner kick. Remo, despite the initial advantage, saw Paysandu grow in the final minutes of the first half.

With the pressure from the bicolor fans, the alviceleste team attacked Remo, and at 37 minutes, the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Benítez. Rossi took the penalty and converted it, reducing the score for Paysandu. In search of the equalizer, the bicolor team pressed forward and at 44, Benítez shot from distance and equalized the match.

In the second half, Sávio scored a stunning free-kick to put Remo ahead again and seal the victory at 3-2.

BLUE ADVANTAGE

With the victory, Remo takes the advantage into the second game of the final, which will be played next Sunday (11), at 5 PM at Mangueirão. The Remo team only needs a draw to claim the trophy. Meanwhile, Paysandu needs to win by two goals to be champions. If Papão wins by one goal, the dispute will go to penalties.
