On this Thursday (8), the School Secretary Professional Development Course was completed, promoted by the Department of Education aiming to strengthen the qualification of professionals working in the administrative and pedagogical routines of school units. The program on the last day took place in a hybrid format, with in-person activities and live streaming via the IPTV platform, ensuring participation from staff in various regions.

“This moment is an opportunity for the professional development of everyone. I am immensely grateful to all the trainers and the team that was present during the in-person and remote classes. I also want to highlight the two great missions we conveyed: to treat well and to serve well. It is essential that, when welcoming people, we treat them with respect and resolve their issues effectively. The sensitivity that the role requires is crucial to ensure control and monitoring of actions,” said Júlio Meireles, Deputy Secretary of Basic Education at Seduc.

The initiative integrated the actions of the Strategic Planning of the Department and focused on continued in-service training, aimed primarily at school secretaries, but also open to other staff from school secretariats. The course covered relevant topics such as modernization of administrative processes, use of technology in school management, public service, and educational legislation.

The training was structured into five modules, totaling 40 hours of training. During the course, content such as Results Management and the responsibilities of the school secretary, pedagogical presentation of the course, presentation of the course on the Avacefor platform, and guidance for participants were covered. Each module was designed to provide learning aligned with the daily practices and challenges of schools.

“So, the course was very important because it helped us to update ourselves, to obtain more information, since many times we arrive in the position, in the role, a little lost. So, we do not know which direction to take, but the course came to solidify the work, in addition to guiding us on how we should act, how we should treat parents, students, and contact with colleagues,” says Maria Zeneide Farias, school secretary at the State Unit Pinto Marques, DRE Belém 4.

The closing included specialists in educational management and presentations of good practices, promoting the exchange of experiences and valuing the work performed in school secretariats. At the end, certificates were awarded to participants, recognizing the commitment and dedication of staff in the pursuit of excellence in service to schools and the school community.

“The course does not end today, nor in a month. It will remain available for everyone to complete the activities in the necessary time, and we will continue to conduct other training sessions until the end of the year, to ensure that we can continue this learning process in a constant and effective manner,” says Raimundo Oliveira, director of Cefor.

With the completion of the course, the Department of Education reaffirmed its commitment to valuing education professionals and providing increasingly qualified services to the school community.
