Federal Justice Representatives Learn About the Structure and Services of the Usinas da Paz
The visit aimed to strengthen ties between the State Executive and the Judiciary, in order to make the structure of the Usinas da Paz available for offering more free services to the population.

A delegation formed by representatives of the Brazilian Federal Justice visited the Usina da Paz in the Icuí-Guajará neighborhood, in Ananindeua, this Thursday (8). At the site, the magistrates were able to learn more about the structure and services offered by the Usipaz, a national model in citizenship that has transformed the reality of the population in Pará, contributing to the guarantee of rights, generation of opportunities, and reduction of violence.
According to the State Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga, the visit also aimed to strengthen ties between the State Executive and the Judiciary, in order to make the structure of the Usinas da Paz available for offering services such as the "Casa da Justiça e Cidadania" program, coordinated by the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region (TRF1) for promoting actions aimed at conflict mediation, in addition to other services that would become part of the vast range of activities offered at each Usina da Paz.

"The Casa da Justiça e Cidadania project integrates various areas of Justice for a closer approach to citizens through restorative justice. So, today we had the honor of receiving federal judges, state judges, and the Public Defender's Office of the Union, so that we can make the space available, to see how the Usina da Paz, within its area of action, can be part of this project. It is very important for us to show everything that the Usinas represent for the communities and to ensure more and more free and accessible services to the population," explained the state manager.

TRF1 Judge Carlos Augusto Pires Brandão, coordinator of the Conciliation System in three states of the federation, including Pará, highlighted that the visit aimed to collaborate with social and security public policies, participating in conflict resolution processes also in the communities.
"When the Federal Justice is present in this initiative of the Government of the State of Pará, it is also proof that this is a successful initiative. We need to work to make Justice less repressive and more welcoming, realizing that the population, the citizen, needs a future, hope, and dreams. These are opportunities that appear here at the Usina da Paz for youth, for children, for mothers and fathers, providing opportunities and leading people to see new paths," said the magistrate.
Usinas da Paz - The Usinas da Paz are citizenship complexes integrated into the Territories for Peace Program (TerPaz), implemented by the Government of Pará to promote social inclusion, reduce violence, and improve the quality of life of the population in vulnerable areas.
Each Usina offers more than 70 free services in the areas of education, health, culture, sports, professional qualification, leisure, and citizenship. Since 2021, when the first Usina da Paz was inaugurated, the spaces have already guaranteed more than 9.3 million services to the population.

In the context of public safety, the Usinas have also contributed to significant reductions in the rates of Intentional Violent Crimes (CVLI) in the areas where they are located, with percentages reaching a 90% decrease, indicating effectiveness in promoting public safety and improving quality of life.
Currently, twelve Usinas are fully operational in Belém (Jurunas/Condor, Guamá, Terra Firme, Bengui, and Cabanagem); in the municipalities of Ananindeua, Marituba, and Castanhal, in the Metropolitan Region; Abaetetuba, in the Lower Tocantins, and Marabá, Parauapebas, and Canaã dos Carajás, in southeastern Pará. Another 25 units are already under construction in municipalities across all regions of the State.
