Pará makes its presence felt at the 5th National Environment Conference in Brasília
During the State Environment Conference held in March in Belém, Pará elected 50 delegates and developed 20 proposals for the National Conference.

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability (Semas), made its presence felt at the 5th National Environment Conference (CNMA), which took place this May in Brasília.
The meeting, themed "Climate Emergency and the Challenges of Ecological Transformation," aimed to promote debate and gather proposals for updating the National Policy on Climate Change (PNMC) and constructing the new National Plan on Climate Change (Plano Clima) to address climate changes by 2035.
During the State Environment Conference held in March in Belém, Pará elected 50 delegates and developed 20 proposals for the National Conference.
Over the four days of collective construction, the CNMA defined 100 proposals to strengthen the National Policy on Climate Change for each axis: Mitigation; Adaptation and Disaster Preparedness; Ecological Transformation; Climate Justice; Governance and Environmental Education.

Of the 100 proposals, 10 were elected as priority and urgent for execution. Among them, the allocation of at least 5% of the budget for environmental actions, such as oversight, forest restoration, and environmental and climate education, stands out.
The document also emphasizes the promotion of sustainable and regenerative agriculture throughout the country, prioritizing family farming and land regularization, through agroforestry systems, the implementation and expansion of green areas, as well as the diversification of transport modalities, especially for cargo transport and urban mobility.
