Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí maintains nearly 94% user satisfaction
For three years, the unit has been providing a range of outpatient specialties, offering Hemodialysis and the Autism Spectrum Care Center (Natea)
At 39 years old, Patrícia Pinto Sousa, a general services assistant, noticed small nodules in the breast area. She sought medical assistance, which requested a series of tests to conclude her diagnosis. The screening, which is being conducted at the Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí, in southeastern Pará, has pleased the patient due to its efficiency in delivery. “I have already had a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy. Everything of the best quality, very good,” she praised.
Like Patrícia, the service provided by the state government unit is considered excellent by patients and companions, as indicated by the User Satisfaction Index, which in the first four months of 2025, records an average of 93.75%. This data reveals the commitment to public health through efficiency, accessibility, and quality of care that provides comprehensive and free service to residents of the Lago region.
Managed by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA), the Poli offers everything from medical consultations to specialized procedures. Through the Unified Health System (SUS), medical and non-medical specialties are available, covering 33 outpatient clinics. Among the medical specialties, general cardiology, neurosurgery, gynecology, dermatology, psychiatry, orthopedics, pulmonology, allergology, among others, stand out.
The Poli also maintains the Autism Spectrum Care Center (Natea). Francinea Borges, aunt of Pedro, 10 years old, lists several benefits that the unit has brought to the child's development.
“I see him now walking into adolescence and showing a huge change. After he started being followed at Natea, he now says he needs to have a routine and wants to do things by himself. He says he can handle it. I was afraid he would become too dependent on me. I am very happy with his methodology for thinking. Natea is a fundamental piece here on earth. Below God, there is Natea for us,” said the self-employed woman, who is the legal guardian of the boy.
Hemodialysis
Residents of southeastern Pará can also count on the hemodialysis clinic at Poli do Lago, which has 30 machines that filter the blood, removing liquids and toxins such as urea and creatinine. Patients are treated in three weekly sessions.
One user who approves of the service is Alex da Silva Ramos. Before the unit was established, he needed to be treated in Belém. Now, with the decentralization of hemodialysis services from the capital, he does not have to travel long distances. “It’s closer to where I live, and I really liked the service. I was surprised because it’s not common for us to have a space like this and still be well treated. I am confident in my treatment,” he expressed gratitude.
Evaluation
The service at the unit is evaluated through a Satisfaction Survey applied daily to users collectively and individually by the User Service (SAU).
“The survey allows the user to register their doubts, requests, suggestions, criticisms, or compliments through a form. Additionally, the user is invited to answer a questionnaire that addresses aspects such as: the waiting time for service, the friendliness and politeness of the professional who assisted them, and the clarity and understanding of the information provided,” explained administrative assistant Cleidiane de Sousa, who works in the sector.
She recalls that based on the responses, the user can express their opinion about the sectors and services received at the unit. “The manifestations are analyzed in detail and classified according to their specificities. After this analysis, the issues are forwarded to the responsible sectors for acknowledgment and/or action, and feedback is sent to the respondent with the response or action taken,” she added.
For Cleidiane, the survey ensures the humanized care provided by the staff, fosters greater closeness between users and the institution, and broadens the managers' perspective through the user's lens.
For the executive director of Poli, Léia Sandim, the index of nearly 94% satisfaction is a reflection of the daily work performed by the unit's professionals. “Knowing that we have reached almost 100% satisfaction shows us how we are on the right path. Promoting safety, assertiveness, and quality in health services for the population, not only in Tucuruí but in seven municipalities,” assured the manager.
