Government of Pará increases Emater fleet in Marituba with delivery of new vehicle

State invests in expanding technical assistance to farmers in Greater Belém

The Government of Pará delivered another vehicle to the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of Pará (Emater) to enhance the fleet for direct service to farmers. This time, the delivery benefits the municipality of Marituba, in Greater Belém.

The delivery ceremony by the state government took place on Thursday (15) during the commemorative event for the first phase of the Menino Deus Square project in downtown Marituba. On this occasion, a technical cooperation agreement was also signed between Emater and the municipal government to integrate public policies and strengthen the socio-productive activities of the peri-urban and rural areas.

“I want to take this opportunity to greet Joniel Abreu, president of Emater, and congratulate the Emater team. There are 600 rural producers, family farmers, from the Alça Viária and rural areas of Marituba who have a strengthened Emater,” highlighted Governor Helder Barbalho.

The event was attended by the Lieutenant Governor Hana Ghassan; the mayor of Marituba, Patrícia Alencar; and federal deputy Elcione Barbalho, among other public authorities.

“The vehicle is available to the local office in Marituba for in-person and complete service to residents, and the cooperation agreement intensifies integrated activities in the municipality, with direct alignment of two municipal secretariats to Emater's work plan, the Secretariats of Agriculture [Sedap] and Environment and Sustainability [Semmas]. This moment enhances Emater's performance in the municipality,” noted Joniel Abreu.

According to the head of Emater, the partnership encourages the advancement of family farming in Marituba in terms of technologies and greater production for market supply, with an immediate positive impact on the quality of life of families and the sustainable development of the municipality. Joniel also emphasized the increase in the number of rural environmental registrations (cars) of properties, with the support of Emater.
