Government of Pará delivers 4th overpass to the population this Saturday (17)
New equipment on Avenida Mário Covas with Avenida Três Corações will facilitate traffic and urban mobility, benefiting over 500,000 people

Everything is ready for the delivery of the new overpass at Avenida Mário Covas with Avenida Três Corações, in Ananindeua. The equipment will be the 4th to be made available to the population by the Government of Pará since 2023, and will modernize urban mobility in the region, benefiting over 500,000 people.
The self-employed Valdeci Coimbra emphasizes the importance of the work, especially because the stretch is quite busy at certain times of the day. "It was necessary to carry out these works for our community, for the city, for the state," he comments.

The fiscal engineer of the Metropolitan Transport Management Center, Ricardo Monteiro, explains that the structure will directly connect Avenida Três Corações with Avenida Mário Covas, passing over the overpass without needing to stop at the traffic light.
"This overpass aims to improve the lives of the population of Cidade Nova, the neighborhoods of Quarenta Horas and Paar, enhancing the urban mobility of these people, speeding up the route for those coming from Três Corações and wishing to access Mário Covas towards BR-316 and João Paulo II," he explains.

How it will work - The flow on Mário Covas will continue normally, passing under the structure. Drivers on Avenida Três Corações, coming from Cidade Nova, will be able to access the overpass and enter Avenida Mário Covas towards BR-316.
Those who need to continue on Mário Covas, towards BR-316 or Augusto Montenegro, will be able to make a U-turn at the roundabout under the overpass.
Housewife Jacinei Mendonça assesses that the new overpass will change the entrance to Cidade Nova, easing traffic and improving congestion, which was previously constant at the entrance of the neighborhood.
"The work will bring improvements for us, for sure. Our entrance here from Cidade Nova will be more valued. It will be great. For me, it's great," said Jacinei.

The baker Naeli Assunção, a resident of the Jaderlândia neighborhood, travels through the region every day and is looking forward to the delivery day. "It will help ease traffic, it will facilitate access for those going to Mário Covas, for those passing straight through, so it will facilitate the mobility of the entire population," she celebrates.
Graffiti and art - To improve even more, the equipment receives artistic intervention by graffiti artist Moisés Oliveira. He has been working for 23 years using graffiti as his main art form. A resident of Marituba, Moisés says that the inspiration for the painting came naturally.

"It is natural for us, artists from the North region, to have this essence of the forest, animals, and rivers. For me, it has been wonderful to be able to do this work because I have always dreamed of being on the best canvases in the city, and today we are here," said Moisés, who had the help of his two daughters to do the work.

Government of Pará has already delivered 3 other overpasses in strategic areas
Three new structures have been delivered by the State Government in the last two years. The first, in 2023, on the BR-316 highway with Avenida Ananin, in Ananindeua; the second, in 2024, on BR-316 with Alça Viária, in Marituba; and the third, in 2025, on BR-316 with Avenida Independência, in Ananindeua.
