Traffic in Belém will be altered starting this Friday (16) for sanitation work advancements
Investments are part of the legacies of COP30, the World Climate Conference, which will take place in the capital of Pará in November 2025

The traffic on Visconde de Souza Franco and Almirante Tamandaré Avenues in Belém will undergo changes in several sections starting at 8 PM this Friday (16). The reason for the change is to advance the extensive sanitation work being carried out in the capital of Pará. The works are part of the legacies of COP30, the World Climate Conference, which will take place in the capital of Pará in November 2025.
To ensure the safety of construction workers, as well as pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, the following roads will need to be closed:
– São Francisco Street, with both margins of Tamandaré Avenue - total blockage - from 05/16, at 8 PM, to 05/18, at 5 PM;
– São Pedro Street, with the left margin of Tamandaré Avenue - total blockage - on 05/17, from 7 AM to 5 PM;
– Intersection of Visconde de Souza Franco Avenue, between Manoel Barata and Jerônimo Pimentel Streets - total blockage - from 05/17, at 7 AM, to 05/18, at 5 PM;
– Senador Lemos Avenue, between Visconde de Souza Franco Avenue and Wandenkolk Alley - total nighttime blockage - from 05/17, at 10 PM, to 05/18, at 5 AM.
Sanitation of the Una Sub-Basin – The first phase of the sanitation of the Una Sub-Basin 4.1.1 is 41% complete. The work is being carried out by the Government of Pará, through Seop, in partnership with the Federal Government, via Itaipu Binacional.
The sewage collection network being constructed will bring more quality of life to the population, preventing the improper disposal of sewage. The waste collected in the region will be treated at the Una Station, located on Arthur Bernardes Highway.
The sanitation of the Una Sub-Basin 4.1.1 includes about 7,600 meters of sewage collection network; installation of approximately 140 units of Inspection Wells (PV); execution of about 700 units of household branches; demolition and reconstruction of asphalt pavement, and construction of a pumping station and a shelter for the generator.

Sanitation of Tamandaré – With 32% completion, the sanitation of the Tamandaré Basin is a project executed by the Government of Pará, through Seop, and includes about 9,500 meters of sewage collection network; installation of about 150 units of inspection wells; execution of about 1,020 units of household branches; demolition and reconstruction of asphalt pavement; in addition to the construction of a Sewage Treatment Station, Sewage Pumping Station, and Rainwater Pumping Station.
