First day of Joapa in the host city of Oeiras do Pará, with the presence of the fans

On this Friday (16), the first day of competition of the XIV edition of the Jogos Abertos do Pará (Joapa) took place, with the vibrant presence of fans at the Basketball, Futsal, Handball, Volleyball, and Beach Soccer matches, in the regional - Marajó I, in the host city of Oeiras do Pará, filled with excitement, in the largest amateur competition held by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel).

The Secretary, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the start of the games today. "A special moment for the city of Oeiras do Pará. We are seeing the fans present in the gyms and filling the futsal matches. We, from the Government of Pará, through Seel, are happy to provide moments like this through sports, which is a tool for inclusion and socialization among municipalities. From here, the champion will emerge to be in the State Phase, in Belém. I wish everyone an excellent competition," said the secretary.

About 520 athletes are participating in this first phase of Joapa, from the municipalities of Bagre, Breves, Curralinho, Melgaço, Oeiras do Pará, Ponta de Pedras, and São Sebastião da Boa Vista. Joapa is the largest amateur sports competition in the state, encompassing all 144 municipalities in Pará in 10 regional stages, focusing on strengthening sports and promoting social inclusion through sports practice.

The volleyball athlete from the municipality of Breves, Fernanda Leão, 22 years old, highlights the importance of the competition and thanks the Government of Pará for the opportunity. "This is my second experience playing Joapa, I played last year and this is my second year here in Oeiras, and I wanted to thank the Government for all this structure they are providing for the reception here in the city. We had our first match today, we were victorious, and I am very happy along with my team, and we are in pursuit of this title. We have one more game that will be decisive for us to be champions, so we are here with the expectation of this title and I wanted to thank for all this opportunity," said the young woman.

Fernanda Leão, jersey 5, highlighted the importance of Joapa and the support from the Government.

On Saturday (17), we will have more matches in the group stages to determine the teams that will qualify for the semifinals and finals that will take place on Sunday.
