The Government of Pará delivered more than 3 thousand driver's licenses through the Social Program "CNH Pai D'égua" to beneficiaries in Belém. This is the third delivery of licenses from the program only in the State capital. Focused on social inclusion, the program is an initiative of the state government that seeks to open new job and income opportunities.

With 60 thousand guaranteed slots in 144 municipalities, CNH Pai D'égua is the largest free driver's license issuance program in the country. With most slots allocated for first-time licenses, the program also ensures the CNH for those who wish to change or add a category.

The Governor of the State, Helder Barbalho, conducted the delivery of the licenses and highlighted the social reach of the program. "CNH Pai D'égua is very interesting for its social role of providing people access to employment and income. We created this idea, and you present here took advantage of this opportunity to turn an idea into reality. So, take advantage, because with the program no one pays anything, not even fees, exams, or driving school. The State Government covers everything because we understand that people should not miss an opportunity in life due to lack of money," emphasized Helder.

The head of the state executive highlighted the program's scope, which now has a special edition for atypical mothers and road workers.

"We are talking about a program that restores rights, that gives the opportunity for a person to have an income and help the family. This initiative from Pará is an example for all of Brazil," he concluded.

Leandro Santos

The young Leandro Santos, 22 years old, was eager to receive his CNH. Now in possession of the document, the resident of Tapanã wants to enter the job market and help support his family. "I am very happy, just like many people served by the program, I cannot afford to pay for a driver's license. With this opportunity, I can work and help supplement my family's income. This day is definitely unforgettable for me," he declared.

More than 30% of the program's slots are filled by women. Housewife Roseli Costa was surprised by the speed of the delivery and intends to use the license to drive the family vehicle. "I didn't expect to have my CNH so soon. I couldn't afford to get my license, but now, thanks to God and the governor, I achieved this great accomplishment, and it will help with my family's transportation," she commented.

In addition to women, young people, and the elderly, people with disabilities are also among the program's target audience. The disability in his leg did not prevent Rosalvo Marinho from fighting for his first license to improve his life. "This CNH represents citizenship, inclusion, and access, especially since the cost is quite high, so I couldn't afford it. Now, I want to use it to get a job, a better position in the job market."

The program featured a special performance by the musical group "Música na Esquina" and a contemporary dance ballet group composed of students from public schools assisted by Usina da Paz Cabanagem.

Renata Coelho, general director of Detran-PA

The general director of Detran, Renata Coelho, emphasizes that beneficiaries should pay attention to traffic laws, avoid infractions, and use the free CNH to change their lives. "This is a unique opportunity that we are guaranteeing, so we ask that you embrace this moment, take care of your CNH, be exemplary drivers, and transform your lives for the better," said the director. In addition to Belém, several municipalities have already received the CNH.
