Registrations open for COP 30 volunteers in Belém; see who can participate and how to register
The COP 30 Volunteer Program offers 3,946 positions for participation during the UN conference, with free training and benefits such as food, transportation, and uniforms
The Government of Pará, in partnership with the Federal Government, launched this Thursday (29) the COP 30 Volunteer Program, which will select about 3,946 volunteers to work during the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, in Belém, from November 10 to 21. Registrations, free and without candidate limits, will continue until June 5.
People over 18 years old, residing in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, with proficiency in English starting from level B2 (intermediate-advanced) can participate. There are reserved spots for people with disabilities (5%), indigenous people, and quilombolas (20%).
Who can register for the COP 30 Volunteer Program
To apply, it is necessary to meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Reside in the Metropolitan Region of Belém;
- Have proficiency in the English language starting from level B2 (C1 and C2 levels are also accepted);
- Have the required documentation up to date;
- Meet the educational requirements according to the position.
What positions are available
The announcement provides for 3,946 positions, divided into three operational categories:
- Operational Support 1: 2,362 positions for people with completed High School;
- Operational Support 2: 950 positions for those who are studying or have completed Higher Education in various fields;
- Operational Support 3: 634 positions for professionals with higher education in technical and strategic areas.
All registered individuals who meet the minimum criteria will be part of a Talent Bank and will participate in mandatory training with 120 hours of training. The final selection will be made from this qualified group, according to the demand of COP 30.
Documents required at the time of registration
To validate the registration, the following documents are mandatory:
- Official photo ID (RG or CNH);
- CPF;
- Recent proof of residence (water, electricity, or internet bill);
- Updated voter registration;
- Resume (free format or Lattes platform);
- Negative criminal record certificate (state or federal).
Training and benefits offered to volunteers
The selected volunteers will undergo a training course covering topics such as climate change, tourism, sustainability, and intercultural communication. The total workload is 120 hours, with a certificate issued at the end.
During the days of work at COP 30, volunteers will be entitled to:
- Food;
- Transportation;
- Official event uniform.
