Military Police conducts crisis management training at a shopping mall in Belém
The training included the presence of the Special Missions Command, Fire Department, and security teams from shopping malls in the metropolitan region of Belém

The Military Police of Pará (PMPA) conducted a practical crisis management training for private security professionals at a shopping mall in Belém on the morning of this Thursday (29). The training is part of the Pedagogical Formative Project (PPF) and aims to prepare participants to act in critical situations, such as hostage-taking, psychological disturbances, suicide attempts, protests, and other high-complexity occurrences.
The action brought together the Special Missions Command (CME), the Fire Department, and the security teams from the six main shopping malls in the Metropolitan Region of Belém.
Practical simulations and protocol alignment
During the training, realistic simulations were conducted to test protocols and provide technical support to the security teams. The focus is to align the procedures adopted by private establishments with those of the Military Police, without interfering in their internal flows.

According to Colonel Mariuba, commander of the CME, the initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation between the PM and commercial establishments. "Each shopping mall has its own service protocol, but many occurrences end up being handled by the PM. Our goal is to guide on the best procedures so that the crisis does not escalate and the response is efficient," he explained.
He emphasized that simple actions, such as correctly calling 190, can prevent more serious developments. In more complex cases, the specialized troop comes into action.
Strategic partnership with private enterprises
According to Major Rocha, commander of BOPE, the request for training came from the shopping malls themselves. "They requested this support from the General Command, and we are providing theoretical and practical instructions on crisis management. Today, for example, the simulation involved an occurrence with a person with a psychological disorder," he reported.
Private security recognizes the importance of training
The security supervisor of the participating shopping mall, Isaías Santabrisda, highlighted that the training brought new tools to deal with delicate situations. "I have managed some occurrences, but always empirically. Now, with this training, I understand the importance of having technical preparation. It was essential for the entire team," he stated.

Actions continue in the coming days
The PM informed that new training sessions are already planned, covering different risk scenarios. Among the topics to be addressed in the coming weeks are: crisis management with the risk of explosive devices and crisis management in protests and demonstrations.
The initiative follows the guidelines of the National Public Security Secretariat (Senasp) and reinforces the integration between public and private forces focusing on prevention and qualified response to critical events.
