On the night of this Thursday (29), the Civil Police of Pará launched the second phase of the "Safe Area" operation, which this time took place in the Guamá neighborhood. Civil police officers conducted saturation (a patrol and policing strategy with a large number of agents in an area) to investigate reports related to illegal practices. Preventive measures were also implemented, focusing on the qualified repression of crimes and the guarantee of public order.

“During the action, several directorates of the PCPA composed the teams that acted in a coordinated manner and conducted approaches through the streets of the Guamá neighborhood and inspections in commercial establishments to verify the regularity of these locations. The 'Safe Area - Guamá phase' operation reinforces the Civil Police's commitment to protecting the population, confronting and repressing crime in a qualified manner,” said Temmer Khayat, deputy general delegate of the PCPA.

With the approaches carried out, the agents were able to execute two preventive arrest warrants against a man who was wanted for sexual assault against a vulnerable person.

“The Metropolitan Police Directorate worked with the teams from the Guamá, Pedreira, São Brás, Marambaia, and Sacramenta precincts, as well as with the Cremação, Jurunas, Comércio, and Marco delegacies, along with other directorates of the institution, which combined efforts in strategic, tactical, and operational activities. As a result, we provided more tranquility to the population and removed a fugitive from Justice with two convictions for sexual assault,” explained delegate Daniel Castro, head of the DPM.

Administrative Police Directorate (DPA) - The DPA inspected the regularity of 25 establishments, emphasizing the verification of operating permits and other legal requirements for conducting commercial activities.

Five owners were notified for operating without a permit, and two establishments were closed for lack of a license. The owners were notified to appear at the DPA headquarters to regularize the situation.

Vulnerable Groups Assistance Directorate (DAV) - The DAV conducted incursions and approaches in bars, commercial establishments, and other social spaces. “Our aim was to identify and curb possible situations of rights violations, especially against women, children, adolescents, the elderly, and people in situations of social vulnerability. We also posted DEAM Virtual posters in strategic locations within the establishments to promote the specialized unit,” explained delegate Janilson Gomes from the DAV.

Specialized Police Directorate (DPE), State Directorate for Combating Corruption (DECOR), and State Directorate for Combating Cyber Crimes (DECCC) - The units that make up the directorates provided support in the ostensive actions and qualified repression, including checking outstanding warrants, tactical approaches, and interventions in points considered critical in the neighborhood, mapped from police intelligence data.

The operation will continue in other neighborhoods of the capital, the Metropolitan Region, and in some municipalities in the interior of the state, providing more tranquility and security for the population of Pará. Any reports of irregular points can be made through the number 181, via the Disque-Denúncia. The call is free, and anonymity is guaranteed.
