With offers of actions and services that seek to promote social inclusion, reduce violence, and improve the quality of life of the population, the Peace Factories are important citizenship complexes to change the reality of thousands of people. The project is part of the Territories for Peace program (TerPaz) and was implemented by the Government of Pará in 2021, with the delivery of the first Peace Factory in Ananindeua. Since then, 13 citizenship complexes have been fully operational and have been responsible for approximately 9.7 million services.

In May, the Government of Pará delivered the 13th Peace Factory, which is fully operational in Benevides, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The space has become a new reference for services and opportunity generation for the more than 60,000 residents of the city. This is the case of student Kimberlly Maitê dos Santos Oliveira, who is taking a basic computer course at the location.

“Here in the course, we are having the opportunity to learn many important things, from creating documents, using spreadsheets, various things that we didn’t have before, so it’s a privilege to be in the first class of the computer course,” she comments.

In addition to Benevides, the citizenship complex is present in Belém (Jurunas/Condor, Guamá, Terra Firme, Benguí, and Cabanagem); Ananindeua, Marituba, and Castanhal, in the Metropolitan Region; Abaetetuba, in Baixo Tocantins, and Marabá, Parauapebas, and Canaã dos Carajás, in southeastern Pará.

Delivered in 2022, the Peace Factory in Jurunas/Condor improved the quality of life for residents of the neighborhood and nearby areas. Housewife Edinalva Santos, 66, took a cooking course and is currently taking care of her health with water aerobics classes.

"I feel very good doing hydro. I never miss a class. I have already taken a snack course, and I think the Peace Factory is very important for this community. There are many children who need it, who cannot pay. And here there are many things, many courses for children, for young people, for seniors, for all ages. I think it has brought many good things to the community. And outside the community too, because there are people who come from afar," she reports.

Under construction - To ensure that more people have access to the citizenship complex throughout Pará, the State is building 24 new UsiPaz in the cities of Altamira, Bragança, Cametá, Paragominas, Santa Izabel do Pará, Capanema, Redenção, Itaituba, Santarém, Viseu, Igarapé-Miri, Barcarena, Breves, Dom Eliseu, São Miguel do Guamá, Portel, Moju, Parauapebas (second Factory), Óbidos, Salinópolis, Tomé-Açu, São Félix do Xingu, Belém (district of Icoaraci), and in Tucuruí.

With more than 98% of the construction already completed, the construction of the Peace Factory in the municipality of Tucuruí, southeastern Pará, is in its final stretch. Located on Avenida 7 de Setembro, in the Nova Matinha neighborhood, the new citizenship complex of the State Government will have a built area of over 6,000 square meters, ensuring comfort and quality in serving the population.

"We are firmly committed to ensuring the completion of this Peace Factory. This is a fundamental step to transform lives and further strengthen the community of Tucuruí. The Peace Factory will be much more than a physical structure; it will be a space for inclusion, education, citizenship, health, training, sports, leisure, assistance, and opportunities for all," emphasizes Elieth Braga, Secretary of State for Citizenship Articulation (Seac). In total, there are more than 70 types of free services.
