Seven years ago, the Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR) became a landmark in assistance to people with disabilities in Pará. Opened in 2018, the public health complex celebrated, this Friday (30/05), another year of operation with impressive numbers and, above all, stories of overcoming, welcoming, and inclusion.

Over this time, the unit has already performed 1,883,761 specialized services in the areas of physical, intellectual, auditory, and visual rehabilitation, contributing to transforming the reality of thousands of users who find in CIIR a space for comprehensive and humanized care. The institution is an agency of the Government of Pará, managed by the National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), with services 100% offered by the Unified Health System (SUS).

The Secretary of Public Health of Pará, Ivete Vaz, emphasizes the importance of CIIR for the people of Pará.

"It has been seven years dedicated to offering innovative and high-quality services, transforming lives and promoting the autonomy of our users. And the mark of almost 2 million services represents the commitment to the rehabilitation and inclusion of those who use CIIR's services," she declared.

With a modern structure, a qualified multidisciplinary team, and a user-centered care model, CIIR has established itself as a reference in Northern Brazil for medium and high complexity in rehabilitation. The satisfaction rate of users remains high, a direct reflection of the welcoming and quality of the services provided.

Rehabilitation with care

Nursing technician, Michele Souza, has been working at the center for seven years. “Since then, we have been developing our work with a lot of willingness, care, and love for what we do,” she says.

“This entire journey began and has been improving more and more over these seven years, to always offer the user our quality work, excellence, and always with humanization. I am very grateful to the management; I also thank the users who come and those who believe that our work will always succeed and is always succeeding,” emphasized the technician.

The integrated work among doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, and other professionals ensures a comprehensive approach, from diagnosis to the rehabilitation and social reintegration process of the user.

Stories that inspire

Rafaela Muniz Bandeira is the mother of little Fabiely Lobato, three years old, who has been receiving treatment at the Center for seven months. “Here she has started to have follow-up and undergo the necessary procedures. We are being very well received and, thank God, everything is going well,” she reported.

"CIIR completes seven years, and I want to thank the assistance my daughter receives here at the Center. It is a very good place, with excellent service. Since we started coming here, we have been very well welcomed. The treatment is excellent. Everyone deserves congratulations!" celebrated the user.

For Renata Vieira, mother of five-year-old Fernando Gabriel, CIIR is a very significant reference throughout the state of Pará. “I had heard about it for a long time, especially when my son was diagnosed with autism. I was in a very delicate situation, but when my son started coming here, it was a great relief because he has developed a lot, he has shown great improvement. My son did not speak, did not socialize, had difficulty at first, but today I can see a significant development in my son's life. So, CIIR is something very powerful in my life,” she comments.

Inclusion in motion

In addition to specialized services, CIIR develops health promotion and social inclusion actions, such as therapeutic workshops, caregiver training, and projects aimed at family bonding and strengthening. The unit also works in health education, with awareness actions about the rights of people with disabilities.

The Operational Director North of INDSH, José Neto, highlights that CIIR is an unprecedented complex in South America, which makes Pará and Brazil proud. “It is an honor to lead the operations of a unit recognized nationally and internationally for its model of care and excellence. CIIR represents hope for thousands of people, especially children, adolescents, and young people with autism spectrum disorder, and for those seeking physical, auditory, visual, and intellectual rehabilitation.”

For the Executive Director of CIIR, Rejane Xavier, these are seven years “of a dream that comes true with every step, where science, technology, and empathy walk side by side.” She also emphasizes that the celebration of the anniversary is more than a milestone in time: “we celebrate the strength of an institution driven by courage, purpose, and the ability to transform lives every day,” she stresses. “And this is only possible thanks to the tireless dedication of our professionals, the commitment of care partners, and, above all, the trust of each user and family that is part of this journey,” adds the director.

Excellence

The Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation has the Diamond Accredited seal from Qmentum International, being the only public unit in the North and Northeast with this recognition. It has also received the Chico Mendes Award for the third consecutive year in the Responsible Socio-Environmental Action category. In 2025, it was awarded the title of Brazilian Company of the Year 2025 by the Latin American Quality Institute (LAQI), in addition to having other national and international awards.
