Sefa seizes aguardente, 54 tons of grinding balls, and industrial equipment
The seizures occurred on Sunday, at posts located in the regions of Carajás Integration, Rio Caeté, and Araguaia. The Terms of Seizure and Deposit issued total approximately R$ 328 thousand

A total of 50 thousand units of aguardente were seized on Sunday (1st), at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), located in the southeast of the State. The goods were valued at R$ 309,058.07.
“During an inspection carried out at the Jarbas Passarinho tax post, a vehicle transporting goods from Vitória de Santo Antão (PE) to Belém was stopped. After physical, documentary, and system verification, it was found that the taxpayer failed to collect, within the regulatory period, the advance ICMS related to the entry of the goods into the Pará territory. The vehicle was transporting alcoholic beverages, totaling 50 thousand units between cans and bottles of aguardente, distributed in 4,200,” reported the coordinator of the tax unit, Cicinato Oliveira.
A Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued with a total due amount, including ICMS and fines, of R$ 170,344.56.

Grinding balls - Also on Sunday (1st), 54 tons of grinding balls were seized, valued at R$ 306,669.68. The product came from Salvador (BA), destined for a mining company in Tucumã. The seizure occurred at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Araguaia, from Sefa, on PA-447 highway, km 15, in Conceição do Araguaia, southeast of the State.
“However, the imported material is intended for use/consumption in mining activities, making it impossible to use the Drawback regime, where the imported goods must return abroad within the period provided by law, and the ICMS Import is due to the State of Pará, where the goods will be consumed,” clarified the coordinator of the tax unit, Renato Couto.
A Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued in the total amount of R$ 115,095.86, regarding the tax and fine for issuing an invoice in an operation as exempt/non-taxable.
Industrial equipment – State revenue inspectors also seized industrial equipment valued at R$ 250,000.00 on Sunday (1st). This seizure was recorded at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeast of Pará, on the border with Maranhão.

“When presenting the invoice, the truck-type vehicle, covered, presented a shipping invoice for the demonstration of industrial equipment, originating from the city of Paragominas and destined for Zé Doca (MA), which did not show any highlights or payment of tax due to the mentioned operation. The inspection decided to carry out a physical verification of the load and it was found that the asset was used. Upon checking the sender's registration, it was verified that he has, among his activities, the sale of parts and equipment. Furthermore, the recipient is a company in the construction sector, meaning it was evident that it was actually a sale of goods, where the shipping invoice was only to avoid paying the tax,” said the coordinator of Gurupi, Gustavo Bozola.
A Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued in the total amount of R$ 42,000.00, awaiting payment.
