The population can now see up close another section of the Nova Tamandaré work in Belém. The Government of Pará has removed the barriers from Quadra H, located between Travessas São Pedro and São Francisco. With 78% of the services completed, the Linear Park is one of the structural interventions of COP 30, the World Conference on Climate Change, which will take place in the capital of Pará in November.

Quadra H of Nova Tamandaré is about 130 meters long and features landscaping, a contemplation area, structures for parking bicycles, four tables, and 19 wooden benches, as well as trash bins, a bike lane, and accessible sidewalks. The space has also been urbanized and is receiving new asphalt paving.

"The services of Nova Tamandaré are advancing at a rapid pace, generating over 400 direct jobs. The population of our capital is increasingly following the evolution of this space that is being transformed with sanitation, urbanization, and the recovery of the entire canal,” said the Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.

Trees are being planted in Quadra H of Nova Tamandaré, which will also feature green spaces that act as sponges, absorbing part of the rainwater before it drains into the drainage system, reducing the risk of flooding. Throughout the nine blocks, the Linear Park will receive 78 new trees.

Sanitation - Nova Tamandaré has been receiving sanitation works to ensure the proper collection of sanitary sewage from the properties located around the canal in the Campina neighborhood. These services reached 37% this week.

The sanitation of the Tamandaré Basin is carried out by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Public Works (Seop). The work includes a sewage collection network, installation of inspection wells, execution of household branches, demolition and reconstruction of asphalt pavement, as well as the construction of a Sewage Treatment Station, Sewage Pumping Station, and Stormwater Pumping Station.

Urbanization – The Nova Tamandaré project is about 1.4 kilometers long. In the area, 2.5 kilometers of asphalt paving, canal recovery, drainage, sanitary sewage, landscaping, urbanization, installation of walkways, and the section received five new gates that control the flow of tides in the area will be executed.

The Government of Pará is investing to improve mobility, leisure, and urbanization in Belém. The project aims to integrate the canal with the city, reclaiming the importance of Avenida Tamandaré for the population. Spaces for socializing are being built, such as kiosks, contemplative areas, and event spaces, bike lanes, playgrounds, pet areas, and outdoor gyms. The services include the urbanization of Praça Onze de Junho and the construction of Praça do Terminal, which will integrate with the New Hydroviary Terminal of Tamandaré, currently under construction.
