The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income (Seaster), held on June 5 and 6, in the municipality of Castanhal, a selection for the entry of youth into the job market through the 'First Job' program, which is managed by the secretariat. On this occasion, about 70 young people participated in the selections.

The action originates from a partnership between the 'First Job' program and the company Mercúrio Alimentos, and also took place with the support of the Municipal Secretariat for Social Assistance (Semas) of Castanhal. A total of 25 positions are being offered for young people aged between 14 and 24 years, residing in the region and seeking their first job.

The initiative aims to ensure access to the formal job market, with a signed work card, guaranteed labor rights, and professional training.

The selection of candidates was conducted by a technical team from Seaster, with the support of representatives from Semas and the company. During the process, the youth participated in individual interviews, group activities, and dynamics aimed at identifying behavioral skills, as well as professional potentials.

The 'First Job' Program, coordinated by Seaster, is part of the state public policy to encourage the training of young professionals, promoting youth protagonism, a work culture, and strengthening the ties between government, society, and the productive sector.

"We act and invest in resources so that we can increasingly provide more dignity to our youth, with the generation of new opportunities through the 'First Job' program, which prioritizes professional growth, in addition to qualification and job and income generation," emphasized Inocencio Gasparim, head of Seaster.

Advances - According to a survey by the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese/PA), based on data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged) from the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Pará registered a total of 12,363 young apprentices formally hired between January and November 2024. This is an increase of almost 14% compared to the same period in 2023, which gives Pará the status of the largest employer of apprentices in the North region and the 11th in Brazil.
