Peace Factories Promote Courses on Creating Typical Products for the June Festivities
The activities aim to empower the community with the necessary skills for producing typical products of this time of year, ensuring the skills needed to create new sources of income.

The Peace Factories are offering free professional training courses throughout June focused on the production of food, typical clothing, and accessories for June festivals. The initiative aims to empower residents served by the complexes, ensuring the necessary skills to create new sources of income while promoting the appreciation of popular culture and fostering local entrepreneurship.

At the Peace Factory in the Guamá neighborhood of Belém, the workshop for making June accessories took place this week and trained women with the necessary skills for producing typical products of this time of year. Retiree Maria Luiza Mota was one of the participants and highlighted the importance of the course. “After I retired, I became interested in learning new things, and the courses offered by the Peace Factories are good for us. Now I can even make a good income and earn some extra money to boost our finances.”

Lane Alves, a resident of the Guamá neighborhood, also took the opportunity to develop new skills in sewing. “This is a course that will definitely guarantee me extra income in the future because the production of clothing and accessories is something people are always looking for,” she said.
In addition to technical learning, participants also had the opportunity to produce their own pieces for use or for sale at fairs, schools, and June events. “The June festivals are part of our cultural identity, and by offering this type of training, the Peace Factories create real opportunities for income generation, strengthening the self-esteem of participants and promoting citizenship through the creation of new professional opportunities,” highlighted the State Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga.
