UEPA Internal Games 2025 conclude in Santarém with integration, sports, and excitement
The event brought together over 120 athletes from five university sports teams and consolidated sports as a tool for unity and development among students

The UEPA Internal Games (JIUEPA) 2025 were a true spectacle of talent, integration, and sportsmanship. Over 120 athletes participated in the competition, held at the State Arena of Western Pará — Professor Djalma Lima, in Santarém. Ranging in age from 17 to 40, the competitors represented five University Sports Teams of the institution: Brutamed (Medicine), Vulcão (Physical Education), Dominante (Music), Pegasus (Physiotherapy), and Enfezada (Nursing), reinforcing the diversity and vitality of the academic community of UEPA in the municipality.

The event, which received support from the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), lasted almost a month — starting on May 9 and concluding last Saturday (8). Throughout the period, participants demonstrated skill and dedication in various sports, providing unforgettable moments for athletes and fans. In addition to the competitions, weekends were marked by integration activities, strengthening friendships and creating bonds among students from different courses.
The Seel secretary, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the importance of the event for the sports and university scene in the region. “It was an important moment for these young university athletes, who competed and had fun in competitions essential for social integration and unity among all. We seek to increasingly energize Santarém with great sports events, and the Arena Oeste is already a consolidated stage for that,” he stated.

The sports contested at the Arena included indoor volleyball, futsal, basketball, and handball. The sports diversity encouraged team spirit and essential values for the academic and personal development of students.
Physical Education student, Márcia Cristina — an athlete from the Vulcão team — reinforced the transformative role of JIUEPA in the university environment. “It is the most anticipated event of the year by UEPA students. Much more than a competition, it is a moment of gathering through sports, where we strengthen ties between courses and live experiences that will be marked in our memories forever,” she emphasized.

In addition to being an athlete, Márcia also participated in the organization of the event and considered the experience a turning point in her academic journey. “It was one of the biggest challenges and also one of the greatest joys of my university life. I worked with amazing people, made friendships that I will carry for life, and gained an experience that neither books nor classrooms could provide,” she added.
The JIUEPA has established itself as an event that goes beyond the courts. It is a project that unites sports, youth, academic training, and passion, strengthening the identity of the courses and creating unique moments within the university universe. For many, like Márcia, this was an edition to go down in the history of Campus XII of UEPA.
