The State Department of Transit (Detran), through the Traffic Education Coordination, is promoting a special program at the Usina da Paz (Usipaz) in Jurunas, Belém. This action is part of the Mobile Mini Circuit Truck project, which brings awareness about traffic safety in a playful and educational way to children and adolescents in various municipalities in Pará.

In the Jurunas neighborhood, activities began last Monday (9) and will continue until this Saturday (14). More than five schools have already been served in the morning and afternoon shifts, in addition to children and adolescents participating in social projects developed at Usipaz.

Education agent, Cássio Nogueira

The Detran education agent, Cássio Nogueira, explained the purpose of the activity. “During this week, we are welcoming children from various schools around Usina. We talk about the importance of safe mobility and conduct a sustainable circuit with bicycles and scooters, already thinking about COP 30. We also address risk factors and the use of safety devices, all in a fun way, so that children learn and take this knowledge back to their families,” he emphasized.

The goal of the Mini Circuit is to teach the basic rules of safe traffic from an early age. Through practical and pedagogical activities, children learn the importance of using seat belts, helmets, respecting crosswalks and signage, so they can act consciously and responsibly in the future.

In the space, children participate in a circuit that simulates a real road, using carts, bicycles, scooters, and children's motorcycles. They also engage in playful activities such as theater, movie sessions, games, drawings, and Q&A.

Little Ana Vitória, 7 years old, was one of the participants and already shows that she has absorbed the learning. "I learned about the colors of the traffic light: red means stop, yellow means go slow, and green means you can go. I also learned that I have to look both ways before crossing the street and make the life signal to cross," she said.

The project also included atypical children, participants of the Atypical Mothers initiative, promoting inclusion and accessibility for children with autism, ADHD, and ODD. The truck and the Mini Circuit have already passed through the Usinas da Paz in the neighborhoods of Benguí and Cabanagem and are expected to continue to other communities in the coming months.

1st grade teacher, Roma Arnoud

Teacher Roma Arnould from the Amazonas Figueiredo State School emphasized the importance of the action. “This type of activity is essential for the formation of conscious citizens. They experienced in practice rules that they will carry into life, which makes learning much more effective,” she stated.

Awareness combined with health

In addition to traffic education, the project also brought innovations for adolescents, with the Functional Mini Circuit, which combines traffic rules with physical activities. With exercises for balance, laterality, and agility, the initiative reinforces learning and also contributes to the physical well-being of participants.

Education agent, Manoel Souza

"As a Physical Education teacher, I sought to integrate traffic with physical activities, creating a playful, dynamic, and educational proposal. This way, we can reinforce the content and also work on the body and mind of our children," explained physical educator Manoel Souza.

The project reaffirms Detran's commitment to traffic education from childhood, contributing to the formation of more conscious and responsible drivers in the future.
