The Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of Gurupi, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), seized on Thursday (12), hospital equipment worth R$ 1.3 million, in Cachoeira do Piriá, on the border with Maranhão, in northeastern Pará. The seizure occurred on Thursday (12).

“The box truck initially presented an invoice originating from Aparecida de Goiânia and destined for the same city, which is located in the State of Goiás, raising suspicion from the inspection. The team decided to conduct a physical inspection of the cargo, and after the action began, the taxpayer decided to issue and present a second invoice for the same goods, now with origin in Belém-PA and destination to Aparecida de Goiânia-GO, which confirmed the suspicion that the cargo was leaving the state and that the due ICMS had not been collected,” reported the coordinator, Gustavo Bozola.

The taxpayer also sent a purchase and sale contract for the goods that was from 2020 and did not pertain to the operation under analysis. “There were several attempts to evade the tax authority to avoid paying the due obligation,” concluded the state revenue inspector.

The inspection disregarded the presented tax documentation and issued the Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) in the total amount of R$ 291,044.38.

Fuel - State revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) also seized on Thursday (12), in the Igarapé-Açu river, in the Lower Amazon region, 7,000 liters of marine diesel and 3,000 liters of type C gasoline, without an invoice, on a vessel that operates as a floating fuel station.

The joint inspection operation included servers from the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control, from the Sefa Coordination in Tapajós, and from the Coordination of Tax Substitution, in addition to support from the State Military Police (PMPa).

“The company had its registration suspended and did not have tax documentation covering the fuel it was selling,” informed the state revenue auditor, Volnandes Pereira.

The goods were valued at R$ 65,000 and two Seizure and Deposit Terms (TADs) were issued, totaling R$ 22,000 related to the tax and fine, which were paid and the fuel was released.
