State Government strengthens agricultural defense in Mocajuba
Technical cooperation and new vehicles contribute to the expansion of Adepará's actions in the municipality, a producer of black pepper, cocoa, and açaí
The Government of Pará, through the Agricultural Defense Agency (Adepará), signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Municipal City Hall of Mocajuba, in the Tocantins Integration Region, on the morning of this Tuesday (17). The objective is to improve agricultural defense actions in the municipality, which stands out for the production of black pepper, cocoa, and açaí. The partnership was established during a meeting at the Mocajuba Chamber, with representatives from Adepará, municipal secretaries, and councilors.
Representing Adepará were the Director of Plant Defense and Inspection, Lucionila Pimentel; the manager of the State Seed and Seedling Program, Cleber Eufrásio Sampaio, and the regional manager of Abaetetuba, Leonaldo Donato Dias, along with other agency staff working in the region. The meeting also celebrated a Vehicle Transfer Agreement, intended for the actions of municipal secretaries.

“With this partnership, we want to ensure greater competitiveness for the Associations and Cooperatives of Farmers in the Municipality, with the artisanal certification of their productions, participating in public calls from institutional markets, generating new opportunities, jobs, and income. In addition to monitoring cocoa plantations and working on sanitary education actions, aiming to ensure the health of these plantations and prevent the entry of Moniliasis, as Mocajuba stands out in the production of floodplain cocoa, which is one of the economic bases of the municipality,” emphasized Lucionila Pimentel.
For Milson Pantoja, president of the Municipal Chamber of Mocajuba, the partnership will meet the demands of rural producers. “Several breeders will benefit from this structure that you are providing for our municipality. We thank the entire Adepará team from the bottom of our hearts, and the state government,” said the councilor.
Management - The partnership strengthens Adepará in Mocajuba, fulfilling the management's commitment to strengthening activities in the field and providing continuous support for agricultural defense actions. “The initiative reaffirms the management's effort to provide better working conditions for the teams and ensure Adepará's effective presence in the territories, fulfilling its mission to protect and enhance the agricultural and livestock production of the State,” emphasized Cléber Sampaio.

A speedboat and a motorcycle were also delivered to the Adepará unit in the municipality, to strengthen the field activities carried out by the Agency's teams, including visits to rural properties, agricultural registration, product transit inspection, sanitary inspection, and inspection of agro-industries of plant origin products.
Mocajuba is one of the 14 municipalities served by the Adepará Regional Office located in Abaetetuba. “A large part of the agricultural production of the municipalities along the Tocantins River is located on the opposite bank from the urban centers. In these cases, the use of the speedboat and motorcycle facilitates the execution of inspection and oversight actions in the productive areas. Furthermore, the response time in the event of diseases or pests is crucial for the success and effectiveness of control measures, making quick transportation a strategic factor in these operations,” emphasized manager Cléber Sampaio.

Greater reach - The vehicles will also be essential for the execution of animal defense programs in the municipality, where there are also cattle and buffalo herds, as well as pig and fish farming. “Various programs in the animal area are being developed. They are vital equipment that reinforce activities and expand our capacity to act,” said agricultural inspector Enéas Marcelino.
According to Aldo Serrão, chief of staff of the City Hall, “an integrated action between governments is being celebrated, which will strengthen the structure of important public agencies, such as Adepará, which is essential for the development of the State. It is the reconstruction of structures for the restructuring of the productive sector and the consolidation of economic cycles.”
Also participating in the meeting were councilors Elkson do Carmo, José Pantoja, Raimunda Dutra, and Raimundo Barbosa.
