Agents of the State Traffic Department (Detran) recovered a motorcycle reported stolen in the municipality of Itaituba, in the southwest of Pará. The action took place on the afternoon of this Tuesday (17), during an ostensive patrol in the Santo Antônio neighborhood.

The approach began in the morning when the inspection team spotted a motorcyclist riding without a helmet on Manoel Alexandre Avenue. Despite fleeing, the agents managed to note the vehicle's license plate and, upon checking the system, confirmed the theft record.

In the afternoon, the agents returned to the location and found the motorcycle parked in front of the same house from which the driver had left. A resident informed that the vehicle belonged to a relative who was not present. The vehicle was seized and taken to the Civil Police station, where it will be available to the true owner.

Traffic agent Oclenio Fernandes highlighted the importance of the action.

“We registered the plate, confirmed the restriction, and followed the approach protocols. This work is essential to return goods to their rightful owners and ensure the safety of the population,” he stated.

Detran emphasizes that it has intensified inspection actions in Itaituba, using technologies for real-time checks, aiming to combat crimes such as vehicle theft and robbery.
