The Jean Bitar Hospital (HJB), in Belém, joined another edition of the junina blood donation campaign promoted by the Hemopa Foundation. With the theme "Forrozão da Doação", the mobilization is part of the national June Red program and was held this Wednesday (18), with the support of the mobile unit of the blood center, parked in front of the hospital.

The initiative resulted in the collection of 56 bags of blood, which can benefit up to 224 patients hospitalized in the hospital network of Pará. A total of 78 volunteers participated in the action, including hospital staff, user companions, and community residents.

According to Camila Medina, social worker from the Donor Recruitment Management (GECAD), the external campaign is part of Hemopa's hospital recruitment project.

"Our goal is to strengthen the stocks and ensure safe care for patients who need transfusions," she emphasized.

This was the second campaign promoted by HJB in 2025, reaffirming the unit's commitment to the regular maintenance of blood stocks.

Rosilene Araújo, 45 years old, from the city of Barcarena

Among the donors was Rosilene Araújo, 45 years old, from Barcarena. Accompanying her daughter hospitalized in the unit, she took the opportunity to contribute.

"It's a gesture of love. Blood is life and many people need it," she stated.

Currently, the Transfusion Agency (AT) of HJB performs an average of 65 transfusions per month, totaling 370 procedures from January to May of this year. Only in 2024, the campaigns held at the hospital benefited more than 1,000 patients hospitalized in the state network.

"We thank everyone who contributed to the success of this campaign. The main beneficiary is the patient who is waiting for this gesture of solidarity," emphasized Alyne Pardauil, technician of the Transfusion Agency of the hospital.

Service: The Jean Bitar Hospital belongs to the public health network of the Government of Pará and is managed by the National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa).

The HJB provides assistance in medium and high complexity in the outpatient and hospital areas for transgender users, and in medical and surgical clinics for patients with metabolic and gastrointestinal diseases. The unit is located at Rua Cônego Jerônimo Pimentel, nº 543, in the Umarizal neighborhood, in Belém.
