Companies, institutions, and innovative projects with potential for technology transfer can now participate in the selection process for residency at the Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá, in Belém. The announcement, updated and published by the Guamá Foundation, the science and technology institution (ICT) responsible for managing the Park, remains open for an indefinite period and provides for the occupation of rooms in the Innovation Space and Entrepreneur Space buildings.

The initiative aims to attract ventures that contribute to strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Pará. “We hope that these companies can contribute by generating innovation, entrepreneurship, and moving the Pará ecosystem,” highlights Carlos Renato Francês, Technical Director of the Guamá Foundation.

Criteria - Technological base companies focused on the development or improvement of products, processes, or services supported by scientific and technological knowledge can apply. Companies in operational phases, with ongoing commercial activities and regular market solutions, as well as non-profit public or private institutions acting as ICTs focused on research, are also eligible.

The selected ventures must interact with the Park's laboratories, promote the transfer of developed technologies, generate jobs, add value to the business, and network with other members of the innovation ecosystem in the State. Additionally, the proposals must align with at least one of the strategic areas of PCT Guamá: Artificial Intelligence, Energy, Bioeconomy, Sustainability, Technology for Education, Mineral Technology, and Information and Communication Technology.

To become a resident, candidates must prove moral, legal, financial, and registration integrity, in addition to meeting the criteria established in the announcement. The evaluation will be based on factors such as the degree of innovation or technological basis of the business model, technical training of the team, adherence to regional development, and capacity for integration with the ICTs based in Pará.

“This is a standard, an international consensus, regarding innovation environments. The Park is not a rental space condominium. Those who go to a park anywhere in Brazil are expected to contribute in other ways to move this innovation ecosystem,” emphasizes Carlos Renato Francês.

Proposals should be sent to the email: [email protected], with the subject: Application announcement 003/2025 – company name. The submission must include a detailed project containing the business model, potential market, team profile and experience, as well as a video pitch and documents such as CNPJ card and social contract. The result of the analysis will be announced within 30 days. Questions can be clarified by phone at (91) 3321-8900, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, or by email at [email protected].

Reference - The PCT Guamá is an initiative of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet), in partnership with the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (Ufra), and managed by the Guamá Foundation.

It is the first technological park in the Northern region of Brazil and aims to stimulate applied research and innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship to improve the quality of life of the population.

Located on the banks of the Guamá River, which gives its name to the complex, the PCT is situated between the campuses of the two universities and has an ecosystem rich in biodiversity, extending over 72 hectares, designated for buildings and the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of the Metropolitan Region of Belém.

The complex has more than 30 resident companies (physically installed in the Park), more than 40 associates (linked to the Park but not physically installed), 12 research and development laboratories for processes and products, and a technical school.

The PCT Guamá is part of the National Association of Promoters of Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec) and the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (Iasp), and is part of the largest innovation ecosystem in the world.
