Documents such as ID, CPF, and birth certificates, and even Styrofoam with fresh fish, are forgotten in the facilities and common areas of the Belém River Terminal (THB), which sees an average of about 1,400 people passing through every day. The movement is intense between boarding and disembarking. Most passengers come from the Marajó Archipelago or from Macapá, the capital of Amapá.

Clothes, bags, helmets, glasses, keys, bottles, and other items are also frequently left behind, which are collected by THB agents, tagged with the date they were found, and sent to the baggage claim.

The Belém River Terminal informs that items can be retrieved within 90 days. To do this, it is necessary to present an ID with a photo. In the case of high-value items, proof of ownership must be provided through some official document. After this period, the material is cataloged and designated for donation.

Destination - Documents (ID, CPF, passport, birth certificate, death certificate, and others) remain stored in the Terminal's Baggage Claim or are handed over to the competent authority for the correct destination.

The manager of the Belém River Terminal, Rita Veiga, states that the goal of the Lost and Found Room is to ensure better use of unclaimed items. “After this period (90 days), if there is no retrieval, the items are responsibly designated for donation. This practice aims to ensure organization, safety, and respect for the users of our Terminal,” said the manager.

In general, items tend to be left under chairs, in the snack bar, at the ticket counter, and in the restrooms. Sometimes, they also fall out of bags and backpacks. Therefore, the Terminal warns that it is always good to check belongings when leaving restrooms and other facilities.

Service: The Baggage Claim Room is located near Gate B of the Terminal. It operates every day from 6 AM to 5 PM.
