The Government of the State of Pará announced this week the protocol "Do Not Stay Silent"; the initiative seeks to ensure that victims have a safe path to report abuses and receive the necessary support in bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and similar establishments. Leading the training based on the protocol, the Public Governance School of Pará (EGPA) has opened registrations, in the EAD modality, for the training course related to violence against women, aiming at prevention, reception, and referral of victims.

Registrations are made exclusively through the EGPA website. The content will be taught by professionals who work in the network of specialized services in the areas of public safety, justice system, women's policies, among others.

The "Do Not Stay Silent" protocol establishes guidelines for bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and similar establishments to adopt measures to assist women, regardless of sexual orientation, who feel at risk within the premises of establishments in Pará.

Open to the general public, the course "Do Not Stay Silent: Here You Are Protected" will allow knowledge and application of appropriate actions to assist victims of harassment, abuse, violence, and disturbance in the establishment.

Check the target audiences and the course load hours:

I. For employees of bars, nightclubs, clubs, dance halls, and similar activities: within 100 days.

II. For employees of restaurants and similar activities: within 120 days.

III. For employees of homes or event venues, performance houses, event organizing companies, and similar activities within 150 days.

The courses will cover topics such as forms of violence against women and practical flows, as well as basic notions about public policies for the protection of women. According to Helvio Arruda, general director of EGPA, the initiative is an opportunity for the Governance School to collaborate in the training of public servants.

"The training of the course 'Do Not Stay Silent: Here You Are Protected' is part of the first Work Plan arising from the ACT with the Women's Secretariat. Owners and employees of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and similar establishments will be certified by SEMU, and participating establishments will receive a quality 'seal'," explains the general director.

The training course was structured by the State Secretariat for Women (SEMU) in partnership with the Public Governance School of the State of Pará (EGPA) and the Information and Communication Technology Company of the State of Pará (Prodepa). EGPA will be responsible for certifying state public servants.
