The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income (Seaster), held a job fair aimed at the LGBTQIA+ community this Thursday (26). The event, in honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month celebrated in June, took place in partnership with the Public Labor Ministry (MPT) and served around 210 people at the Secretariat's headquarters in the Batista Campos neighborhood of Belém.

The services offered included worker registration in the National Employment System (Sine), job openings, PIS consultation, issuance of the digital work card, legal assistance, issuance of ID cards, referrals for the issuance of birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as the provision of vaccines, such as tetanus, triple viral, and yellow fever.

Several companies in the service sector, including bakeries, bars, and restaurants, as well as pharmacies and car dealerships, conducted job interviews, already with the proper referrals for the next steps for candidates to the available positions.

“This action is very important because it will give more visibility to the community, as many times we do not have these opportunities within our reach. I leave here today after a job interview confident that I will be hired,” said Aurora Almeida.

Financial autonomy - The initiative of the Government of Pará aims to create new opportunities for entering the job market, ensuring more financial autonomy through advances in job and income generation. “Executing this action is of utmost importance, as we work tirelessly to ensure that everyone achieves their financial stability and fulfills their personal and professional growth aspirations. We seek, more and more, to act in favor of people in vulnerable situations, generating more jobs and income, also for the development of our State,” emphasized Inocencio Gasparim, head of Seaster.

In this edition, more than 210 people went through Sine (National Employment System) for registration in the system for a job vacancy and interviews with company representatives.

Seirdh participated in the action by registering for the Empodera+ Program

Empodera+ - In partnership with the State Secretariat for Racial Equality and Human Rights (Seirdh), there were also registrations for the Empodera+ Program, which continues until this Friday (27). The initiative offers 100 scholarships and aims to ensure decent work, education, and income generation for the LGBTQIA+ community.

In its initial phase in Pará, the Program allocates vacancies to residents in situations of social vulnerability in the Guajará Integration Region, which includes the municipalities of Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Marituba, and Santa Bárbara do Pará.

The Empodera+ not only facilitates access and advancement in professional careers but also supports free income generation.

“The initiative was created to address the structural inequalities affecting the LGBTQIA+ population, as a space for welcome, empowerment, and opportunity, where each person can develop their potential with dignity and respect,” highlighted the Program's coordinator in the State, Ariel Carvalho.

Registrations - Those interested in Empodera+ can register until June 27, either virtually or in person, at the Seirdh headquarters (Rua Arcipreste Manoel Teodoro, nº 1020). For in-person registration, it is necessary to submit copies of the documents listed in the notice (https://seirdh.pa.gov.br/sites/default/files/2025-06/EDITAL%20EMPODERA%2B%202025.pdf) and the registration form.
