In an event marked by emotion, recognition, and institutional advancements, Governor Helder Barbalho participated, this Tuesday (1st), in the graduation ceremony of 77 new sergeants of the Military Fire Department of Pará (CBMPA), at the General Command Headquarters in Belém. In addition to celebrating the achievement of men and women who now take on new responsibilities within the corporation, the event was marked by the awarding of merit medals and the sanctioning of the new Basic Organization Law (LOB), which updates, after 33 years, the legislation that structures CBMPA.

“We are forming the largest contingent in the history of the Military Fire Department of Pará, with the largest public competition ever held in this corporation. Here, I would like to thank everyone who received their honors. If they did, it was due to the cooperation and collaboration that strengthens the institution,” highlighted Helder Barbalho.

Sergeant BM Nêmura

Among the graduates, 3rd Sergeant Nêmura expressed pride in being part of this new stage of her career. “This course qualifies us in the role of sergeant. It is like a requalification. We not only acquire new knowledge but also improve, review techniques and concepts. It is a course that gives us the spirit of leadership to command the teams. The feeling is one of gratitude and pleasure. It was almost two intense months of practical and theoretical classes, and this is a moment of joy that brings us success, the conclusion,” said 3rd Sergeant Nêmura.

Sergeant BM Adam Vilhena

For 3rd Sergeant Adam Vilhena, the moment was emotional. “Today, I feel very emotional because it is a course that allows us to advance in our careers. We go to the field to command the troops, corporals, and soldiers in various situations, with our greatest role: saving lives. We feel more prepared now, with this training time, to lead effectively and provide a safe response to the population when they need us the most,” he declared.

Qualification - The course is part of the corporation's ongoing training policy, established by Decree No. 2,844/2022, reinforcing the technical, tactical, and management qualification of professionals, with an emphasis on valuing the military career.

The ceremony also featured the presence of Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, the General Commander of CBMPA, Colonel Jayme Benjó, state parliamentarians, and various civil and military authorities.

The General Commander praised the achievement, highlighting the role of the Legislative in the approval of the new LOB. According to him, “having our law approved unanimously reflects the population's need for a stronger, more present, and more robust Fire Department. This achievement represents the alignment between the Legislative Power and the corporation. To our officers, I thank you for your fundamental collaboration in this journey.”

Helder Barbalho sanctioned the Basic Organization Law of the corporation alongside Vice Governor Hana Ghassan

Preparation for Tomorrow - Helder Barbalho also emphasized the historical importance of the new legislation. “The last sanction was in 1992, when then-Governor Jader Barbalho – my father – modernized the corporation's law. After 33 years, we are here with an updated, modern text, the result of cooperation and dialogue with the Legislative. It means preparing the Fire Department today for the challenges of tomorrow,” affirmed the governor.

The new Basic Organization Law structures the corporation's operations, guarantees administrative and functional autonomy, and reinforces the principles of hierarchy, discipline, respect for human rights, and integration with other public security agencies. It also defines the effective force, revokes previous legislation, and establishes updated operational parameters, considering the new territorial and demographic realities of the State.

In addition to the graduation and the sanction of the law, Relevant Service Medals of Military Fire Department Intendancy were awarded, recognizing servers and partners who significantly contributed to the administrative and operational management of the corporation.
