Detran promotes traffic education for children and adolescents in Salinas
The Summer Operation 2025 program has already reached over 250 children and adolescents with educational activities along the city's waterfront

As part of the Summer Operation 2025, the Department of Traffic of the State of Pará (Detran) is promoting an educational program in Salinópolis aimed specifically at children and adolescents. Since June 28, the Mobile Mini Circuit truck has been set up in the city with activities running until July 15, always from 6:30 PM to 10 PM, with free access for the public.
The education teams operate at two strategic points: on the Maçarico waterfront and at the new Salinópolis waterfront. At the new waterfront, the activities focus on promoting the use of sustainable transportation, valuing responsible behavior in traffic, and building a culture of safe mobility from childhood.

The goal of the Mini Circuit is to teach the basic rules of safe traffic from an early age. Through practical and pedagogical activities, children learn the importance of using seat belts, helmets, and respecting crosswalks and traffic signals. The proposal is to stimulate conscious behavior from an early age and prepare future citizens to be more attentive to traffic coexistence norms.
The manager of Educational Integration at Detran, Celina Koury, emphasizes that the purpose is to reach children in a light and effective manner. “We want to guide them from an early age on how to behave in traffic, but in a playful and pedagogical way. By playing, they learn the importance of using safety equipment, such as seat belts and helmets, and respecting essential elements like crosswalks and traffic lights,” she explains.
In the space, children participate in a circuit that simulates a public road, using toy cars, bicycles, scooters, and children's motorcycles, allowing for practical experiences of common traffic situations. The program also includes educational theater, children's movie sessions, games, drawings, and question-and-answer activities that reinforce the content in a participatory and engaging way, all focused on the theme of safe traffic.

Other activities, such as the educational hopscotch, address safe and sustainable practices at each stage of the journey. Body painting stimulates knowledge about traffic through creativity. On the Maçarico waterfront, the truck also has reception rooms where children receive individualized guidance on traffic, such as the use of traffic lights and crosswalks.
Since the beginning of the action, more than 250 children and adolescents have already participated in the program. The initiative is part of the official calendar of the Summer Operation 2025 and reaffirms Detran's commitment to traffic education as an essential tool for accident prevention and the promotion of citizenship, especially during the summer season when the flow of vehicles and pedestrians increases in the state's tourist areas.
