Codec strengthens partnership with Paragominas to modernize Furniture Hub
In a technical meeting, a proposal developed by the Company was presented to the City Hall, which values the local economic potential
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) received, on this Monday (7), representatives from the Paragominas City Hall for another stage of negotiations aimed at restructuring the Furniture Hub and implementing a new Industrial Hub in the municipality, located in the southeast region. The initiative is part of the Pará Government's strategy to internalize industrial development, prioritizing job and income generation, and attracting sustainable investments.
With interest already expressed by Codec in structuring a new hub in the region, the meeting reinforced the Company's role as a facilitator of the process and a technical reference for Pará municipalities. The meeting was attended by the Director of Investment Attraction, Manoel Ibiapina, representatives from the Planning and Projects Directorate (Ditec), Institutional Relations (DERI), and the legal area of the Company.

The Development and New Business Manager of Ditec, Mayara Pinheiro, presented the conceptual project developed for the new Industrial District of Paragominas, structured based on the local economic potential, the technical diagnosis of the region, and urban, productive, and environmental guidelines. The proposal includes aspects such as zoning, infrastructure, logistics, and attractiveness for new enterprises, with a suggested area of 120 hectares near the PA-125 Highway.
Furniture Hub - Guidelines were also provided for the reorganization of the existing Furniture Hub, according to the demand presented by the City Hall. The Ditec team shared initial steps regarding documentation and regularization of the area, aiming at modernizing the productive structure and the legality of the processes.
The agenda also included the creation of an internal regulation for the future management of the new Furniture Hub, in addition to the necessary alignment with the Municipal Master Plan, ensuring the sustainability and compliance of the planned actions.
“Codec reaffirms its commitment to Paragominas and makes all its technical structure available to the municipality. Our focus is to transform planning into real development, with concrete results for the population – especially in job and income generation,” highlighted Manoel Ibiapina.

The importance of Codec's technical support and the detailed presentation of the proposals was highlighted by the department director of the Municipal Planning and Development Secretariat (Seplan), Marcelo Anet, and lawyer Marco Antônio Azevedo, representative of the Furniture Hub Association, who was also invited by the City Hall to contribute to the process of installing a new Industrial District.
Marcelo Anet informed that all the information provided will be taken to the municipal manager (Sidney Rosa) and the Planning Secretary (Débora Fernandes), with the aim of institutionally aligning the next steps and ensuring the speed of the industrial structuring process.
