The Government of Pará, through the Economic Development Company (Codec), held an online meeting on Monday (7) with Business France - the official agency of the French government focused on the internationalization of companies and the promotion of foreign investments. The meeting featured the participation of the manager of Agricultural Projects at the institution, Myriam Hammadi, and marked a new stage in the institutional relationship between Codec and Business France, which began in 2016, with an emphasis on the logistics sector.

The meeting was conducted by the Strategy and Institutional Relations (Deri) and Investment Attraction and Business (Dain) directorates, with the aim of presenting the Company's operational model, its strategic guidelines, and the business environment of the State - mainly the bioeconomy sector.

Online meeting between Codec and Business France managers

Manager Myriam Hammadi highlighted the priority sectors of Business France's operations, such as health (with an emphasis on the pharmaceutical industry), services and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agrotechnology. She also expressed direct interest in the bioeconomy and agritech segments.

Potential - Codec presented its main initiatives aimed at attracting investments, structuring industrial districts, and stimulating local development, with a focus on productive chains such as bioeconomy, agribusiness, and sustainable energy. The strategic geographic position of Pará and the potential of the Barcarena Export Processing Zone (ZPE), aimed at exports to Europe, Asia, and North America, were also emphasized.

This new stage in the institutional dialogue has already allowed for significant advances in identifying synergies, with an emphasis on bioeconomy as a mutual interest axis. Another point discussed was the tax incentive policy and the environmental licensing process. The Codec team explained that the Company works in coordination with state secretariats, such as Finance (Sefa), Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas), and Planning and Administration (Seplad), aiming for greater fluidity in technical processes and security for investors.

“This dialogue reinforces Codec's commitment to positioning Pará on the radar of sustainable international investments. The approach with Business France is strategic to consolidate new institutional partnerships and expand cooperation opportunities,” evaluated Augusto César Anunciação, Institutional Relations manager of the Company.

Also participating in the meeting was the Foreign Trade manager Eduardo Rodrigues. According to him, the approach between the Company and Business France began in 2016 focused on the logistics sector, and now expands to areas with high potential for cooperation, such as agribusiness, bioeconomy, and productive infrastructure.

Perspectives - Codec and Business France share the same institutional purpose: to attract and locate companies with productive potential in their territories. Business France acts as the business office of the French Embassy in Brazil, while Codec is responsible for articulating investments and structuring favorable environments for entrepreneurship in Pará.

The meeting was considered productive, opening concrete pathways for new dialogues between Codec and representatives of French and Pará companies, in order to enable projects aimed at sustainable development and innovation in the productive sector.
