The final result of the EMPODERA+ program is now available
The first stage of the initiative is aimed at LGBTQIA+ individuals living in the municipalities of the Guajará Integration Region
The final result of EMPODERA+ (Dignified Work, Education, and Income Generation Program for LGBTQIA+ Individuals) was announced this Monday (7). The initiative, organized by the State Secretariat for Racial Equality and Human Rights (Seirdh), is part of the National Strategy for Dignified Work, Education, and Income Generation for LGBTQIA+ Individuals, developed through a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC).
The final result is available on the Seirdh website. The email for inquiries is [email protected]. Selected individuals should await contact from the local project team regarding the next phases. The reserve list will be announced later on July 25.
The program is an embryonic public policy that involves the Federal, State, and municipal governments, based on listening to and articulating with social movements and the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition to promoting access, retention, and advancement in professional careers for LGBTQIA+ individuals, the initiative supports the inclusion of these individuals in income-generating activities freely, with guarantees of labor and social security rights, through Solidarity Economy, Cooperativism, and Entrepreneurship, according to the Methodological and Service Guide of the Pilot Project of the Program.
EMPODERA+ aims to prepare and occupy the LGBTQIA+ community in the job market, seeking the autonomy of the target audience. In Pará, in this stage, 100 spots were offered for individuals in situations of social vulnerability residing in the municipalities corresponding to the Guajará Integration Region (Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Marituba, and Santa Bárbara do Pará).
Throughout the execution period, the program will have a technical team composed of a general coordinator, a psychologist, a social worker, an educator, and a job vacancy and partnership facilitator. These professionals will be responsible for supporting the beneficiaries in their journeys within the program.
