The Amazon was the stage for an important moment of cooperation among Brazilian states this Tuesday (15), during the second day of the Technical Chamber of Health Care, promoted by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) in partnership with the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa). The meeting took place on Combu Island, in Belém, bringing together representatives from the 27 State Health Secretariats for a day of technical debates, experience sharing, and inter-institutional articulations.

The host state was the first to present its initiatives, highlighting the universalization of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). The presentation was led by the Deputy Secretary of Health Policy Management of Pará, Heloísa Guimarães, who reinforced the role of integration among states as a driving force for strengthening the SUS.

“Sharing solutions that have worked and openly discussing the challenges faced by each management is essential for us to build more effective public policies adapted to regional realities,” said Heloísa.

The Secretary of Health of Pará, Ivete Vaz, welcomed the participants, highlighting the pride of hosting delegations from all over the country in the Amazon territory.

“These moments of experience exchange are fundamental for the collective construction of fairer, more effective solutions adapted to each territory. Pará has much to show, and also much to learn from other states,” she emphasized.

Exchange of experiences and regional solutions

  • The technical program addressed topics such as:
  • Decentralization and interiorization of health;
  • Cost-effectiveness in hospital management;
  • Contracting of beds;
  • Oral health using technology in remote areas;
  • Specialized care for the indigenous population;
  • Experiences in elective surgeries focusing on HPPs;
  • And care for riverside women through obstetric nursing residences.

Among the participants, the Secretary of Health of Rondônia, Jefferson Ribeiro da Rocha, highlighted the relevance of the event for the North region. “Bringing together managers who face similar realities allows us to transform common problems into concrete proposals. The participation of the Ministry of Health and the role of Conass are essential for the North region to receive attention with more equity,” he pointed out.

The First Lady of Amapá, Priscilla Flores, presented the “Mais Sorriso” project, aimed at oral health in remote communities, and praised the organization of the event. “It was a wonderful experience. I take with me real solutions that other states have found for similar challenges. I also leave here enchanted with Pará, with its cuisine, its natural beauty, and the ability to combine technique with hospitality,” she stated.

Launch of AVE-SUS: network innovation

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the launch of the AVE-SUS platform (Virtual Environment of Successful Experiences), created by Conass as a digital space for sharing good practices in the SUS. The aim is to value the solutions that have generated a positive impact on state management and promote knowledge exchange.

“AVE-SUS is a strategic tool for strengthening the SUS. We started with a keen eye on the Legal Amazon, a region that presents great challenges but also an enormous capacity for innovation,” highlighted the Executive Secretary of Conass, Jurandi Frutuoso.

Organized into axes such as Primary Care, Specialized Care, Regulation, Digital Health, Surveillance, Management and Planning, and Health Education, the platform is already live at the address: www.conass.org.br/ave-sus

Closing and program

At the end of the day, participants were presented with a symbolic stamp of the event and proceeded to the closing of activities.

The program of the Technical Chamber continues this Wednesday (16), with a technical visit to the Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR), a reference in multiprofessional care for people with disabilities in the state of Pará.
