HRPL performs over 163 thousand services in the first half of 2025 and reinforces the excellence of public health

The Regional Public Hospital of the East (HRPL), in Paragominas, reached the mark of 163,145 services and procedures performed in the first half of 2025. This significant number consolidates the unit as one of the main centers of specialized public health in the interior of the State, offering free and quality care to the population of the southeastern region of Pará.
As a reference in medium and high complexity, HRPL is part of the network of the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa) and attends to emergency cases, specialized clinics, surgeries, and diagnostic support exams, focusing on the decentralization of oncological treatment and the inclusion of indigenous peoples in public health policies.
Service Summary
From January to June of this year, the unit performed:
- 106,670 laboratory and imaging tests (including 90,529 clinical analyses and 16,141 diagnostic support exams – SADT);
- 30,070 outpatient and emergency services;
- 2,501 surgeries;
- 1,833 hospital admissions;
- 9,431 physiotherapy sessions;
- 1,252 occupational therapy sessions;
- 1,351 speech therapy sessions;
- 1,849 nutrition consultations;
- 434 blood transfusions;
- 6,660 social service consultations;
- 1,094 psychological support sessions.
“With over 163 thousand procedures performed, HRPL reaffirms its role as a center of excellence in specialized care, combining efficient management, technical quality, and humanization in patient care,” says the hospital's general director, André Bordallo.
The manager also highlights that the advances are a direct reflection of the coordinated action of the multiprofessional team and the commitment to the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS).
“We continue to build a model of resolutive, accessible, and people-centered assistance, in accordance with Sespa's guidelines. HRPL is today a symbol of responsible care, especially regarding the fight against cancer and attention to indigenous communities,” he adds.

Admitted for gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy), patient Maria Gonçalves, 32, praised the care received:
“The care is great, as is the approach of the professionals. I was treated with respect and love! I am satisfied and feel safe,” she declared.

The recognition reinforces the excellence of integrated management and the commitment to continuous improvement of care.
In 2024, HRPL had already recorded over 177 thousand services, demonstrating its operational capacity and regional impact.
