The unit has a seal of excellence and is a reference in the state region

The humanized care has earned the Transamazon Public Regional Hospital (HRPT) the title of excellence. The hospital provides medium and high complexity medical assistance to residents of the region, such as the self-employed Rosinete Neves. She is being assisted at the unit after suffering a domestic accident and has already undergone clinical, neurology, and cardiology exams.

During treatment, in contact with doctors, nurses, and technicians, Rosinete observes the care of the teams. “Whenever I am here, I am well taken care of,” she said, who is just one example of the dozens of patients assisted in the outpatient clinic, one of the 50 sectors of HRPT.

Nursing technician Natália Uchôa is one of the collaborators responsible for welcoming, directing, and accompanying patients every day. She has worked in the outpatient clinic for five years. “We have empathy for others, we put ourselves in their place, and we have patience when we need to calm a patient who is not feeling well, in pain because they recently had surgery. So, it is at this moment that humanization comes in.”

Humanization is one of the pillars of the Transamazon Regional Hospital

Roberta Silva, responsible for the Quality Management and Patient Safety Center (NGQSP), is the one who monitors and helps maintain the standard of procedures applied at HRPT. “This strengthens the team's work, increases patients' trust, and improves overall performance.”

Edilamar Torres de Sousa is a patient in orthopedics. For her, HRPT stands out for its agility and the treatment provided by the staff. “I think it’s excellent, both the care and the scheduling that always keeps us informed. It helps a lot.”

To maintain the level of services it offers, the largest public hospital in Transamazon and Xingu undergoes constant internal checks. The investments result in quality, improvement, and well-being strategies. From the simplest to the most complex demands, all procedures must follow standards of equity.

The general director of HRPT, Hivena Maria Nogueira Lima, emphasizes that the actions promoted by HRPT have as their main objective “continuous improvement, through the standardization of processes, strengthening the organizational culture, and a constant focus on patient safety.”

Hivena adds that being able to offer quality health care, making the hospital one of the best-referenced in Pará, is a daily mission and must always be fulfilled with the purpose of making the patient feel this when needed. “It means institutional credibility, both for the professionals working in the unit and for the users who trust the care provided,” she concludes.

Within the hospital, the patient also has access to the User Service (SAU), a service where suggestions can be made for the unit to improve its services.

Opened in December 2006, the Transamazon Public Regional Hospital is approaching 20 years of operation in Altamira. In nearly two decades, the hospital, managed by the Acqua Institute since December 2022, in partnership with the Government of Pará, has already performed more than 4 million procedures, averaging 17,500 per month.

The unit ensures more than 20 specialties through the Unified Health System (SUS), a Brazilian program praised worldwide for offering free, equitable assistance.
