The Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital (HRMJ) has been expanding access to high-precision imaging exams. Among the highlights is the Doppler ultrasound, a technology that combines traditional ultrasound with real-time blood flow assessment, allowing for more detailed and secure diagnoses.

In the first half of 2025 alone, over a thousand general and Doppler ultrasound exams were performed at the unit, which exclusively serves users of the Unified Health System (SUS).

Retiree João Henrique Sena da Luz, 67, a resident of Oriximiná, was one of the beneficiaries of the service. He underwent a Doppler exam of the renal arteries to investigate complications in the kidneys.

“My exam went very well. The doctor explained all the details during the procedure. I was very happy with the result,” reported the patient.

The Doppler ultrasound exam is a painless, non-invasive method without radiation, providing real-time results. According to ultrasound physician Carlos Aleixo, the exam is essential for analyzing blood flow in blood vessels.

“Doppler allows us to assess stenosis, arterial and venous circulation, identifying possible changes such as thrombi (clots) and fat plaques (atheromas) in the patient,” explained the specialist.

Additionally, the professional emphasizes that humanized contact with the patient during the exam also makes a difference.

“We discuss the exam in real-time with the patient, explaining what is being seen. This care conveys confidence and tranquility,” he concluded.

100% SUS Service

A reference in health in the Calha Norte region, the Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital has 26 inpatient beds, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 16 reception beds, with a modern structure aimed at comprehensive patient care.

In addition to Doppler ultrasound, the unit performs various other diagnostic exams such as colonoscopy, digestive endoscopy, electrocardiogram, digital X-ray, computed tomography (with and without contrast), and laboratory tests.

The hospital is located at Rua Barão do Rio Branco, 3,288, in the Santa Terezinha neighborhood, in Oriximiná (PA).
