Detran agents recover stolen vehicle and assist pregnant woman with contractions on the road
The vehicle was found in Marituba, while the pregnant woman was transported by the agents to the maternity hospital of Santa Casa do Pará
The State Department of Transit (Detran) registered two important actions on Sunday (20), which reinforce the role of the agency in promoting road safety and preserving life. In the first occurrence, a vehicle with a theft record was recovered with the support of the video monitoring system "Sentinela", in the municipality of Marituba, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. On the highway, a pregnant woman received assistance to reach the hospital.
The traffic inspection team, through the "Sentinela" video monitoring center, recovered on the afternoon of this Sunday (20) a Volkswagen Saveiro Cross vehicle, yellow in color and with license plate NXM9F10, which had been registered as stolen since July 14 of this year.

The action was carried out after an alert issued by "Sentinela", which operates in real-time and automatically reads vehicle license plates with restrictions. The car was identified while traveling on the BR-316 highway, at KM-17, near the Detran inspection post, in the Bela Vista neighborhood of Marituba.
During the approach, the driver claimed to have acquired the car in an informal negotiation, without any valid transfer documentation, which reinforced suspicions and led to the immediate seizure of the vehicle. After administrative and police procedures, the car was collected, and the case was forwarded to the Civil Police, which will continue the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the irregular possession.

Support for the pregnant woman - On the same day, at the inspection post installed on the PA-391 highway, which provides access to the Mosqueiro district, agents assisted a pregnant woman in labor. The woman, who was on an intercity bus, got off at the post after feeling contractions and asked for help. The inspection agents took the patient in the official vehicle to the Dr. Almir Gabriel Maternal-Infant Unit, at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará, where she was admitted accompanied by her mother.
“Detran of Pará operates daily focusing on two essential fronts: technology, as a strategic tool for inspection, and the valuing of life, as a principle of all our actions. The recovery of the vehicle through the 'Sentinela' system and the assistance provided to the pregnant woman are clear examples of an operation that goes beyond traffic inspection. These are situations that demonstrate our team's preparedness to act with efficiency and sensitivity, protecting the population of Pará in different contexts,” highlighted Bento Gouvêa, Technical Operational Director of Detran.
