Civil Police arrests man in the act after femicide in Paragominas
The speed of police work ensured that the suspect was found near the house where the crime occurred
The team from the Specialized Police Station for Women's Assistance (Deam), in Paragominas, in southeastern Pará, arrested a man in the act on the morning of this Monday (21) for the crime of femicide. The victim, identified as Ediane Gomes Cirilo, was the partner of the suspect and was found dead in the couple's residence in Vila Bacaba, a rural area of Paragominas.

The swift action of the Civil and Military Police resulted in the location of the suspect. "We initiated an investigation after receiving the report about the victim's death. While we were conducting investigative work at the scene, he was found and arrested by the Military Police near the residence where the victim was deceased. We called the State Scientific Police team to carry out the forensic work and the removal of the woman's body, who was violently killed and showed multiple injuries, fractures, and bruises all over her body," said Delegate Amanda Costa, head of Deam in Paragominas.
Witnesses reported that the couple had a history of domestic violence, with previous physical assaults and death threats, reinforcing the gender motivation of the crime.
"After being captured, he was charged in the act for the crime of femicide, as defined in Article 121 of the Penal Code. Given the seriousness of the facts, as well as the concrete risk to public order and the application of criminal law, a request was made to convert the arrest in the act into preventive detention. He underwent the necessary procedures at the police station and is now at the disposal of Justice," added the delegate.
