State Government delivers over a thousand Pai D'égua driver's licenses to residents in Castanhal
Free license provided by the Government of Pará's Program, which is a model for the country, benefits professionals from over 10 municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Belém and the northeast
Continuing the delivery schedule of the Driver's License from the Social Program CNH Pai D'égua, the Government of Pará delivered the document in Castanhal, a municipality in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. In total, 1,150 driver's licenses were guaranteed to beneficiaries from Castanhal and Santa Izabel do Pará (RMB), as well as from municipalities in northeastern Pará, including Bujaru, Curuçá, Inhangapi, Marapanim, Santa Maria do Pará, São João da Ponta, São Francisco do Pará, and Terra Alta.

The delivery event filled the Sports Complex of the Usina da Paz in Castanhal on the morning of this Wednesday (23). Vice-governor Hana Ghassan led the administrative agenda, emphasizing that the driver's license is an open door to the realization of dreams.
“I know that many here, who are receiving the license, have a dream. And with willpower, we overcome barriers. This year we will have the largest global event, which is COP 30. Castanhal will receive many tourists in November, it will be shown to the whole world. And those who want to work in transportation will have a great opportunity,” reinforced the vice-governor and president of the State Committee of COP 30.
According to Hana Ghassan, Castanhal will have a large hotel for the global conference on climate change, and in the future, it will also have a convention center, expanding job opportunities and income generation for those who have the driver's license.

Achievement - Student Gleyce Rodrigues, 21 years old, lives in Bujaru, over 52 km from Castanhal, and came to receive her first license. This opportunity, according to her, would not be possible without the support of the state government. “I am from a low-income background and could not afford it. I do not have a vehicle yet, but in the future, I want to pursue that dream as well, especially now, with this driver's license, which will open many opportunities. I feel very accomplished,” she stated.

With the offer of 60,000 slots, distributed across 144 municipalities, the "CNH Pai D'égua" is the largest program for free issuance of the document in Brazil. With all licenses classified as paid activity, beneficiaries can obtain their first license, add or change categories. The goal is to make the Program a public instrument for professional insertion or promotion and, consequently, income improvement. With it, assisted drivers gain a range of job and income options, being able to work as private or company drivers, taxi drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers, app drivers, motorcycle couriers, truck drivers, and school transport drivers, among many possibilities made viable by holding the license.
Inclusion - Resident of Castanhal, announcer Erica Reis, 37 years old, explained how the driver's license will contribute to improving her mobility, as well as boosting her business. “I learned about the project through social media. I am disabled (PcD) and, with my free driver's license, I have more mobility. I managed to obtain licenses in categories A and B, in addition to having bought my motorcycle. With this, I can carry out my sales, as well as come and go with ease. My process was wonderful. I was very well attended every time. Therefore, I am grateful to be able to come and go throughout the State of Pará,” she stated.
Also residing in Castanhal, manicurist Carla Oliveira, 37 years old, explained that the "CNH Pai D'égua" is fulfilling her dream of allowing her to maintain her family's tradition of truck drivers. “It was my sister-in-law who made me sign up, and it was on the last day. So much so that I signed up without believing I would be classified. The category I chose was D, as I come from a family of truck drivers, and it has always been a big dream of mine to have a license for a truck because of the stories I heard about the trips. With this, I will have more job opportunities, as it brought me closer to my dream. I am extremely grateful,” Carla shared.

National reference - Issued by the State Department of Transit (Detran), the issuance of the driver's license through the Program is entirely free, and the candidate is exempt from any costs with driver training centers (driving schools), clinical exams, and fees. All these expenses are covered by the state government, with the sole aim of guaranteeing beneficiaries opportunities in the job market.
Professionals from various municipalities have already received the Pai D'égua driver's license in all regions of Pará. “More than R$ 400 million has already been invested so that people can have the license 100% free and thus realize their dreams; who knows, change their lives. The Program is a huge effort from the Government of Pará, and it has already become a model for other states, which seek us to learn about and take this benefit there. And this makes us very proud,” emphasized the general director of Detran, Renata Coelho.
