State revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) seized, on July 22, metal stakes used in solar energy structures, valued at R$ 362,154.00. The action took place at the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, on the border of Pará with Maranhão.

During the inspection, the approached vehicle presented invoices originating from Salvador (BA) and destined for Moju (PA), without the proper ICMS highlight. The goods were intended for a non-contributing company in the State.

"In analyzing the documentation, we identified, through the system, a global sales invoice with ICMS highlighted, but without the tax being collected," explained Gustavo Bozola, coordinator of the Gurupi tax unit.

Another point noted by the team was the incorrect use of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM). "The sending taxpayer indicated an exempt product code, but upon physical verification of the cargo, it was confirmed that they were metal stakes for mounting structures," reported one of the state revenue inspectors.

In light of the irregularities, a Seizure and Deposit Term was drawn up in the amount of R$ 40,307.82, referring to the differential ICMS rate (Difal) for non-contributors.

Sefa continues to intensify inspections at the State borders focusing on combating tax evasion and ensuring the collection of state taxes.
