The Government of Pará delivered, this Wednesday (23), the 16th Usina da Paz, this time in the municipality of Tucuruí, in southeastern Pará. The unit is the first built in the Lago de Tucuruí Integration Region and will directly benefit more than 96 thousand residents of the city and region.

The complex brings together more than 70 free services in areas such as health, education, citizenship, professional qualification, culture, sports, and leisure. In total, there are more than 30 public agencies gathered in one place at the service of the population.

During the event, Governor Helder Barbalho highlighted the social impact of the initiative.

“This equipment has transformed social realities through the presence of the State. The Usina da Paz was made for the population, so that everyone can use it. From a child - who comes to the garden to get the first guidance on how to care for the environment - to an elderly lady who can do her water aerobics. Therefore, the plant has the concept of caring for the family. This is our goal, to take care of the people of Tucuruí and take care of the people of Pará,” said the governor.

Vice Governor Hana Ghassan also reinforced the importance of the project.

“UsiPaz is more than infrastructure. It represents care for people, especially for women, youth, and children. It is a welcoming space for the whole family,” she explained.

The mayor of Tucuruí, Alexandre Siqueira, highlighted the importance of the new public equipment for the youth of the municipality.

“Today is a historic day for our city. The Usina da Paz is a space where our young people and adolescents will find real opportunities for learning, culture, sports, and professional training. We are strengthening pathways for them to choose knowledge. This is transforming the present and building a better future for everyone,” he explained.

Dream realized - Residents of the city celebrated the arrival of the new public equipment. Richarlisson Martins was anxiously awaiting the delivery. “It is a dream come true for this equipment to arrive in our city. I intend to study a lot here and take the computer course. Congratulations to the government for this initiative that transforms the lives of young people and adults,” he said.

Young Alice Duarte, 21, is excited about the possibility of professionalizing with the free courses. “Now I have a place to learn and seek my future, the plant is equipment that adds a lot to the issue of training and professionalization. It is a new beginning for many people, it will be beneficial for all,” she said.

Structure - The new Usina da Paz has a wide and modern structure, with fully equipped spaces for providing services such as medical and dental care, document issuance, and vocational courses. The new public equipment also has structures such as a library, computer rooms, theater, multicultural square, sports courts, swimming pool, sewage treatment station, among other environments intended for serving the population.

Resident Michele Ferreira, 39, visited the Usina da Paz during the opening and was impressed with what she saw. “I was enchanted by everything I saw here. I never imagined we would have such a complete, beautiful, and well-maintained place in our city. I am sure it will help in development and job creation,” she said.
