The "Operation Summer 2025" of the State Government continues to bring more public safety to 50 locations with the deployment of 9,000 agents. Those who chose the last weekend of July to enjoy the Belém islands and region benefited from the integrated actions of the agencies that monitor vessels, commercial establishments, and the flow of departures from ports.

The actions cover the islands in front of Belém such as Combu and das Onças, Porto de Icoaraci, as well as Cotijuba, which are popular weekend destinations due to their beaches and leisure activities offered.

In the coordination and integration of forces, the Public Security River Group (GFLu), linked to the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), has been coordinating with the use of inspection vessels, which are also complemented by vessels from the agencies. The Group also uses an operations base, the "Estrela do Norte," anchored in front of Praça Princesa Isabel, in the Condor neighborhood, ensuring prompt response to incidents and for the population needing to contact security agencies in the area.

The operations coordinator of GFLU, Lieutenant Colonel PM Bruno Anaissi, emphasizes this joint action that prioritizes the tranquility and safety of the population.

"The operations we carry out are planned and executed together, aiming to cover all the security needs of the population. The military firefighters are always on standby to respond to aquatic emergencies, perform rescues, and provide first aid. The Military Police intensifies patrolling in areas of higher traffic, preventing crimes and ensuring public order. And the Civil Police acts in the investigation of offenses, ensuring that the law is enforced in all locations," he informed.

Complementing are the Brazilian Navy, with the Port Authority, which controls navigation safety by inspecting the crew and the authorization of vessels to navigate, as well as controlling passenger boarding together with the Regulatory and Control Agency for Public Transport Services (ARTRAN) and the City Hall of Belém, through the Municipal Secretariat of Security, Public Order, and Mobility (Segbel).

Inspection - Each force present in the inspection includes the River Police Station (DPFlu), the Independent River Policing Company (CIPFlu), the Maritime and River Group of the Fire Department, in addition to the Municipal Guard of Belém. The Brazilian Navy, through the Port Authority, also joins, along with other state agencies in specific activities. Operations on the islands continue until August 4.

In managing the actions of this weekend, Lieutenant Wallace Silva of CIPFLU highlighted the commitment of the forces. "The safety of our population is our priority. We will continue until Sunday with integrated operations and in human and material resources to ensure that the rivers and islands of Belém are a safe and pleasant place for everyone," he stated.
