In the first half of 2025, the General Hospital of Tailândia (HGT) and the Public Regional Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, both units of the health network maintained by the Government of Pará, recorded 971 births, reinforcing the commitment to humanized, safe, and quality care in maternal and child health in the interior of Pará.

The maternity hospitals, managed by the National Institute for Social and Human Development (INDSH), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), have qualified multiprofessional teams, adequate structure, and a focus on welcoming, strengthening the public health network and providing positive experiences for hundreds of women and their families.

In Tailândia - A reference in obstetrics in the Tocantins Integration Region, in southeastern Pará, the General Hospital of Tailândia performed 708 births in the first half of this year, maintaining a monthly average of over 100 procedures, including normal and cesarean deliveries. The unit also addresses various demands related to maternal and child health, receiving patients from neighboring cities and villages to Tailândia.

Marcella Silva, 22 years old, gave birth to her daughter, Heloá, last Wednesday (16). Two days after childbirth, she shared her experience as a user of the obstetric services at HGT, from arrival to follow-up in the obstetric clinic.

“The care I received here at the Hospital was very good, from the moment I entered the service point until I reached the obstetric clinic. Initially, I tried for a normal delivery, but it was not possible, and I needed to undergo a cesarean section. Thank God, everything went well. The doctor who performed the delivery, Dr. Domingos, was very attentive throughout the procedure. Here in the clinic, I am being very well treated. The entire nursing team is polite and helpful,” said the patient.

“We constantly seek to improve our processes and ensure humanized and efficient care. Continuous training of the multiprofessional team, combined with the unit's structure, has been fundamental to provide safety to pregnant women and newborns. Our focus is to welcome with quality, respecting each stage of the childbirth process and ensuring that patients feel safe and well cared for, from arrival to postpartum,” informs the Assistant Manager of HGT, Milton Peixoto.

Approval - With various medical specialties and services, the Public Regional Hospital of Marajó is a landmark for public health in the Marajó Archipelago. The unit offers medium and high complexity assistance, with a user satisfaction rate of 99.3%. Among the highlighted services is obstetric care for high-risk pregnant women, which ensures specialized care, safety, and support during the gestational period.

With an average of over 40 births per month, the Regional Hospital of Marajó performed 263 births in the first half.

The person in charge of the Maternity Space, nurse Joseane Corrêa, explains that the hospital has a multiprofessional team committed to ensuring humanized and safe assistance, from prenatal care to postpartum. “Our goal is for all women who come through here to feel empowered, informed, and secure to experience this moment with confidence and tranquility,” assures the nurse.

User Núbia Farias e Andrade, 28 years old, had twins at HRPM and highlighted the quality of care received. “The doctor who attended me was very attentive and careful. All the professionals treated me very well! I felt safe, and today I am very happy with my babies,” said Núbia.
