During an inspection carried out on this Monday, the 28th, by state revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), at the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of Carajás, in the southeast of the State, 49 tons of corn and 50 tons of soybeans were seized. The seized goods totaled 99 tons of grains, with a commercial value estimated at R$ 141,692.00.

The seizure occurred at the Carajás Railway tax post in Marabá, where two vehicles transporting the grains were approached.

“The first vehicle was transporting 49 tons of bulk corn. Initially, the driver presented an internal invoice issued in the state of Mato Grosso. After questioning by the inspection regarding entry into Pará territory, a second internal invoice was presented, also for an internal operation, supposedly originating from Santana do Araguaia-PA and destined for the municipality of Mãe do Rio, also in Pará. However, the driver himself confirmed that the cargo was loaded in the municipality of São Félix do Araguaia in Mato Grosso, destined for Mãe do Rio-PA. In light of this, both internal invoices were disregarded, and the corresponding ICMS collection for the interstate entry into Pará territory was charged,” reported the coordinator of the tax unit, Cicinato Oliveira.

The second vehicle was transporting 50 tons of soybeans, with a declared departure from Santana do Araguaia-PA, and destined for the municipality of Porto Franco-MA. The operation was characterized as interstate; however, the presented invoice did not accompany the due advance ICMS collection for departure.

Two Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were issued, totaling R$ 23,803.37, referring to the tax and fine.
